Mille Et Une Nuit

Mille et une nuit used to be a little gem in Manchester but has gone seriously down hill.
The salon ostensibly offers hair and beauty treatments, as well as a Moroccan bath. Be warned, though, the level of hygiene is appalling — I’m surprised the shop hasn’t been investigated or even shut down. I’ve been a couple of times in the hope that I just visited on an off-​day but now my friends and I won’t go back.
1) The Moroccan Bath isn’t cleaned between visits, which means that you’re sitting/​lying on seats that haven’t been disinfected. Unless you buy the glove they use for the exfoliation, they also use the same one for different customers. Trust me when I say this — It. Goes. EVERYWHERE. I got exfoliated in places I didn’t even know I had and I would *not* like to think that the glove they used had been in someone else’s nether regions.
2) I asked for a pedicure and had to refuse at the last minute because there were pubic hairs in the foot spa. I had to refuse again when the woman who was going to do my pedicure just swilled it out.
When I had a manicure there, the lady doing it filed the skin off the top of my finger and left me with bleeding cuticles. The manicure was blobby and smudged within an hour.
3) Last time I was in there, a girl with long curly hair was getting it cut and asked the woman who works there to style it curly. The woman told her she didn’t know how to style it curly, so she styled it straight instead.
4) The couch you sit on to wait is falling to pieces and is covered with old towels with bleach stains and hairs on them
5) The treatment chairs are torn and covered in maker pen scribbles and old hairs
6) Despite what Mille et Une Nuit claims, the Moroccan bath area is NOT ACCESSIBLE — it’s up some very narrow stairs and is completely unsuitable for people with mobility issues.
7) My friend got a couple of Hollywood waxes there. The first time, the therapist was decent but made weird comments about my friend’s nether regions. The second time, my friend couldn’t walk for a week without discomfort as the therapist had waxed the same bits over and over again in an unsuccessful attempt to do a good job.
I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place — if Environmental Health get hold of it, I’m pretty sure things wouldn’t end well. So much potential to be a real gem, so little realisation of that potential. :(

Mille et une Nuit is an exclusive Morrocan style beauty salon with rich and ancient techniques than the usual commercial streams to give you that beautiful edge.
I was surprised to find a ‘Morrocan’ style salon here, I mean it is very unusual and rare things only attracts you to it. They have packages on their speciality the Morrocon bath, which for starters is only £20 and then keeps increasing as you keep adding factors like exfoliating and massages. Yet, it is way cheaper than any posh spa treatment and maybe even more effective.
They offer all other services like hair, nails and body. It’s a great place on Wilmslow road and let me stress again on it’s variation from all the usual places.
