Manchester, you must do better. You seem old, stale and some basic stuff you should do better you don’t. Firstly, I have learned what terminal I need when I come here. I buy my ticket online in the US and they don’t give us that info. So it is Your job to put better and I formative sign posts that don’t just say ‘terminal 2′, say what’s there, why would I need that terminal etc.

BUSY in a nutshell. When you’re transported from terminal 1 via bus, you get a tour of a great big plane parking lot, across the tarmac and thru the plane take off areas. You even get to go below some of their noses as you pull into the elevator bay. When you are pulled into the main terminal, if you are a virgin Atlantic customer, you need to go to the info desk across from gate 211 to check in. Hopefully it will be staffed better than my experience was, but still a very polite man was there and we were able to check in rather quickly. Once the gate was assigned and I made my way down, I took in how busy and full of people this terminal really was. There was the Duty free Mall, yes MALL. It had lots of little shops you could buy from, but ONLY if you produced a valid ticket. Apparently this is like being on a cruise ship and you can get your alcohol pretty cheap. They seal it up and they don’t take it away from you. Busy, HUGE and very well appointed this terminal is quite nice.

Manchester Airport terminal 2 isn’t the best terminal i have ever been through. It really needs revamping especially due to the international Airlines what use it. The shops and coffee shops are looking tired as is the whole building, the newly opened pub has made it look a bit better but the whole place is in need of a revamp.

Terminal 2, Terminal 2, Terminal 2… well basically it’s less exciting than Terminator 2! Loads less exciting! Considering you can fly to some of the worlds most exciting destinations from here, it really is fairly lacking in terms of great places to eat and drink. There’s the usual chains like Frankie and Bennys, a couple of Whetherspoons but it’s no Heathrow Terminal 5. The best tip I can give you is that the best coffee is at Nero’s… and meal deals from Boots are usually the way forward if you’re getting a flight and want to take some snacks on board with you… You can usually get a big bottle of water free when you buy the Telegraph too. A fairly decent duty free but nothing massively wow here and it all feels a little bit behind other world airports now with better food T3(Terminal…not Terminator…)

Worst airport ever. I’m stuck in line at the United baggage counter. The employees aren’t checking anyone’s bags. Just sitting there.

I’ve been using Terminal 2 at MAN for almost two years now and think I am well aquatinted with it and all t has to offer. There are the usual Boots, W. H. Smith etc. for your every day and pre flight needs. Everything is clearly signposted and there are plenty if departure screens so you’ll not miss you’re flights. The eateries are, sadly, expensive and offer poor value for money. The one exception being Caffè Nero(my favorite our of the big 3), who are only in T2 at MAN. Duty Free is a huge let down. Please beware of this as the so called«Sale»(or similarly worded tags) are grossly misleading and you may well find yourself paying more than the normal price for items. Also for T2, the selection of goods is less than in T1, or, in T3.
