This discount M&S outlet is obscenely close to my new homestead, and very handy it is too. You can’t argue with major M&S brands when it comes to clothing at 40% off. Why would you? It’s lovely stuff and will last you through the summer/winter/holiday season — remember how your parents would always buy your good clothes from M&S, and the stuff you’re likely to wear through in one playground session from crappier places. It also has a pretty ample homeware section which excites me as we still need bits for the apartment. And to be honest, clothes-wise, any place that has my hubs-to-be making a purchase both times he’s been in is definitely doing something right. I managed to knock over some really badly-displayed Viennese(Andreas R will affirm they’re NOT Viennese) biscuits the one time I was in there, so I’m not sure they’ll let me back in again, but food-wise you’ve only got sweets and gifts here. It’s all you’d want really — the epic Aldi nearby covers everything else. Percy Pig and his friends you’ll find in spades, same with chocolates, and… Viennese biscuits. The really weird thing though? So on all the clothes, they display ‘retail price’ and ‘outlet price’ side by side to make you go, ‘ooh, it’s so much cheaper here’. But with the sweets? ‘Retail price: 99p. Outlet price: 99p.’ Why? I mean… why? Maybe all their labels have the same template and they couldn’t make normal ones. Alternatively, they could make Percy Pigs and Viennese biscuits 40% cheaper too. Then I’d up my review by a star.
