This café is clearly not the same as the famous and poplar Koffee Pot. It has a really limited menu and only three or four tables to sit at. But this place doesn’t have any pretensions of being anything but a basic greasy spoon café, and that’s why I really like it. I ordered a sausage and egg baguette, which was hot and in a soft, white bun. The yolk of the egg was perfectly cooked by the sweet lady behind the counter. At 9am on a cold morning, this was exactly what I needed. £1.85 and ready in about six minutes wasn’t at all bad either. Koffee Pot 2’s all day breakfast is a bit more substantial and only £3.50. Also, this café has three computers on which you can get online, and you only have to spend £2.50 to get unlimited use. This is only a couple of streets away from the kind of central coffee shops where £2 will buy you 30 minutes online at most.

Not to be confused with the crazy good Koffee Pot nearby, Koffee Pot 2 does not appear to be a sequel of the graffiti’d coffee house but is a little more downmarket shall we say. We did get a very nice welcome from the owner, which was sweet. But this didn’t distract us too much from our not so nice surroundings. Koffee Pot 2’s outdoor seating is on the main road(Ancoats) which is noisy with traffic and not at all relaxing/conducive to good chat. As for their wares — ok hot and cold drinks, ok prices. Nothing to rave about.
