Kingsway is a mini gateway to down south for all Mancunians who happen to own a car. Us drivers thus spend a lot of time shooting up and down the A34 and could be forgiven for not noticing a few little eateries along the way. Burnage is famous for the spawning Manchester’s greatest music offering to the world, Oasis. These days however the neighborhood is probably most recognized as an ugly duckling of the city. Regardless of whether you agree with that or not, one thing is for certain, Kashmiri spice is in Burnage and it serves delicious food. The thing that sets it apart from all the other takeaway joints dotted along Kingsway is the passion for food they have. Everything is cooked fresh and the service is impeccable. The variety is another plus point. The menu caters for everything from curries to Italian Pizzas. So if you work in Cheshire but live in Manchester or vice versa, call in and take yourself a treat of a dinner home one night.

A lovely takeway, good food and friendly staff. Easy to find on Kingsway, South Manchester. Would recommend.

Ah, Kashmiri Spice… let me count the ways in which you irritate me. On one hand, you’ve got a place that makes curries and sides so good that you’re almost compelled to ring everyone up that you know just to tell them how amazing your tea was… …and the other hand, you have a restaurant that can be really poor on an off-day and completely forget parts of your order that you probably deem quite vital(like rice). However, for the most part, Kashmiri Spice is really great. The meat in the curries is always cooked incredibly well(get the lamb — you’ll faint it is so good) and, just as importantly, the veggie options are stunning. If you’re passing by, it is advised you eschew the myriad of fried chicken places in favour of some onion bhajis or spinach pakoras. They’re all pretty firey, but very, very tasty indeed. Kashmiri Spice is always pretty busy if you’re popping in after the pub and there are some tables if you want to devour your food immediately. On the whole, a big thumbs up for me… apart from the sporadic times the seriously drop the ball.

I’m still thinking about the amazing Saag Paneer, rice and Poppadoms I had from Kashmiri Spice last night. God, they were good! Mind you, takeaways from here nearly always are. Sometimes delivery can be a little slow, which is annoying if you’re starving. But when the food arrives, it’s always worth the wait! One of the best things about this place is the huge amount of non-meaty options available. With most curries available with mushroom, paneer or veg and a sizeable number of Veggie specials, they’ll keep the Vegetarian in your life very happy! The prices are really reasonable, too. So the Carnivores should be just as enthusiastic!

I ordered a takeaway from here through . I ordered a chicken tikka masala and peshwari naan. The curry was okay, but fairly greasy and a tad cold. The peshwari naan was however unlike any other I’ve had before. It was far too sweet with what tasted like cooled liquid sugar in the middle which didn’t really have any flavour. I’m not sure if it was just an off day as the one in fallowfield is of much better quality but this meal left a bad impression on me.
