I’ve lived so close to coridoor for years yet I only found it at the start of this year. I still don’t think I’d have found it unless I’d been with my friend who seems to be a regular there. You probably would question why two bouncers are stood chatting away in an alleyway though! We went in January so it was quite quiet but the cocktails we had were amazing and the staff really friendly. I need to go back to be fair and girls if you plan a visit find them on the ‘Drinki’ app for a free cocktail!

I live around the corner from Corridor — or what is now called ‘Under new management’ and a late night, last minute decision to go out lead me here with a group of friends. If you didn’t know where it was, you would never find it. No signs point you in the direction of this bar, which is truly hidden down a back alley of the streets of Salford. I approached two large doors with caution at first, as it did look like i was about to walk into an empty building, but as soon as I walked through the doors and up a small set of stairs, it became apparent that I was in a very dark, but also very cool bar. It’s small, which i like — with booths providing lots of comfy seating and the people there are mainly local and dressed casually for a Saturday night, which i also liked. I was a fan straight away. The bartender, after learning i have just moved to the area, welcomed me with opened arms and asked me my name. Let’s see if he remembers it for next time! The ambiance is really cool in here — everyone was having fun, the music was a fab and a few people were dancing and didn’t look out of place at all. It’s open until 4am Fridays and Saturdays. Last night I left here not knowing my own name. The sign of a fabulous night and a great bar!

So what was once called«corridor» is now called«under new management». You wouldn’t know it was there during the week but the 2 bouncers tend to be a give away on a weekend! If you like cocktails, don’t like a load of pretension with your cocktails and have a penchant for a bit of 1990’s dance music then this could be the place for you! It’s a bit off the beaten track but defo worth seeking out. Bouncers are friendly and bar staff too. Bar is small inside but with a few booths to park yourself. Clientele mixed and not bothered about any crazy shapes that are been thrown in the name of dancing which is a bonus as some cocktail serving places can be a bit too serious! Open late on a weekend we left at 3am and the party was still going strong.

I was impressed with the bartender at Corridor, who despite his hangover made every effort to please our group who arrived first just prior to 5pm. Apparently the happy hour deal on their website is no longer live which means it’s £7.95 for their signature cocktails which is really pretty expensive, especially given the location, but«classic» cocktails were £5 and looked fantastic. The bartender opened up the back area of the bar so our group could all sit together and brought water in beautiful glass bottles plus ice when requested. Would pop in again if I were in the area, although would hope by then they would have fixed the toilet seats in the ladies…

A sign. A door. That’s it. I have had many good times in Corridor, usually during Happy Hour! I think the most interesting thing about Corridor is the unusual location. It’s not somewhere you’re going to stumble across. In fact, every single person I’ve taken here has had a ‘panic’ moment as we turn the corner onto the side street & down the alleyway! Inside, at the end of the corridor, leads into a bar with mood light & a fantastic funk/soul/motown soundtrack. The menu is quite varied with classic cocktails, such as Old Fashioneds, Daiquiris etc, along with Corridor’s own twist on them. There’s also more experimental cocktails to try, such as a vodka based green tea cocktail. They also have a good selection of spirits & a few select lagers. Though if you’re in a cocktail bar, you’re only there for one thing! Personally I recommend the Golden Cadailac(White Chocolate/Orange) for those with a sweet tooth. Also the Blue Smoke(Smoked Blueberries/Rum) is very nice. Good cocktails. Good music. Good times.

As everyone else has already said, this is a cool place with some fantastic signature cocktails that you won’t see in other places. I went in on a Friday night and the music was really good too, this may have to be my new favourite bar in Manchester(although it’s actually in Salford)

This place reminds me of a New York Speakeasy. Liked the set up but the atmosphere seemed to be some what lacking. The cocktails werent as good as Socio Rehab, my lychee martini didnt really taste as it should and my friends Lipstick Jungle had a funny aftertaste. However, the bar men were cute and funny so who cares what the the drinks are like eh? haha

Great bar, when you find it. Just look for the small neon blue sign outside the place to guide you in. Corridor Bar comes across as a fairly classy and fashionable establishment although it doesn’t take itself too seriously at the same time. It is a great escape from the busy chain bars in the city centre and in my experience, it attracts a fairly decent type of clientele. The bar is dimly lit throughout and uses red spotlights on bare brick walls to create a fairly intimate environment. I have only been on Saturday nights so far and on each occasion, they have had a DJ playing. A good mix of Funk, ‘old school’ Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz. Excellent in my opinion and it definitely adds to the suave and cool atmosphere the bar clearly aims to put across. Cocktails are the flavour of the day here and with such drinks as a ‘Ron Burgundy’ on the menu, I reckon it would be rude not to! They do offer bottled beer if that doesn’t float you boat though. The bar staff are friendly and efficient plus they offer a waiter service should you be lucky enough to land a seat. In summary, the funky music, retro styling, dimed lights and extensive cocktail list won’t be for everyone(check out the first review!!) but frankly, this isn’t a bad thing. It is definitely a bit off the beaten track, but as far as I’m concerned, as a pre-club venue, Corridor Bar is hard to beat.

What a find. I’ve been living in Manchester for 8 years and had never heard of this place and after doing a straw poll with other mates they hadn’t either. It is off the beaten track, underplayed, and a really pleasant surprise when you work out what door to go through and then see the place that you’re in. It is small, intimate and when I went on Friday they were playing great music, serving great cocktails with a playful clientele who weren’t taking themselves seriously at all. Not all places are going to suit all people. But unlike the reviewer above, if I feel like a venue isn’t for me, I tend to walk out and leave and probably not go back. certainly not post 8 – 10 long paragraphs on the subject about how EVERYONE else is the problem. Feel free to comment when you’ve had shit service, poor food or if something is stupidly overpriced but you don’t need to be such a bitch! I’m def going back and hope to take some friends for some laidback cocktails in a seclued little bar for a nice treat. Try it and you might like it? Don’t like it, you can leave! Bring it!

I’ve been to some dreadful places in my time, but Corridor is just about the worst of the lot. Before I even begin, I’ll point you in the direction of what this bar thinks of itself without any trace of irony: «Nobody can tell you you are cool, you just know it. Five years ago, passing somebody in the street wearing white earbuds would elicit a knowing nod although strangers to each other, iPod owners considered themselves a clique, a cabal of cool… knowledge of Corridor’s existence and location is spreading, usually by word of mouth and pretty soon, like the iPod it will ingratiate itself to the masses but thanks to the simplicity of the door policy(if you can find it, you can come in) and the focus on great drinks and service. Corridor will be cool for many years to come.» Honestly. Anyone reading that with at least a trace of a rudimentary brain-cell should be wanting to hunt the place down and level it with as many explosives and bulldozers as possible. Stepping inside this hell-hole is when the suffering really begins. Red-lights adorn the area, complete with Curiosity Killed The Cat’s ‘Greatest Hits’ being churned out of the in-house PA at ear-bleeding volume, leaving patrons to slink cod-disaffectedly on the red sofas, trying to read each other’s lips on the off-chance anyone might say something of even the slightest significance. If they enjoy being here, then it is a safe bet that they’re saying nothing interesting at all, leaving everyone else to slump in their chairs wishing someone would come and give them a lethal injection to end the unrelenting misery of this irritating hipster-gland. I managed to find myself faced with an achingly wacky bar-staff, all dressed in lab-coats. One of them fancied himself as something of a comedian. In reality, he was the flesh and bones equivalent of a novelty tie. Alas, no law has been passed where you can force people like him face-first through paper-shredders. To the right of the bar was a ‘hilarious’ chalk-board with formulas and equations on for patrons to work out. You’d be wrong in thinking that people ignore it as three dunderheads gamely stood by trying to work out whatever pointless equation it was, presumably in the name of a free drink. On top of this, the prices on the bar were extortionate and there was nothing on tap. Anyone who actually pays to buy a bottle of Bud should be thrashed to within an inch of their lives. I got a dark rum concoction and, to be quite frank, it was dismal. Almost apologetically, a fat man in a lab coat was sent around the venue to serve up experimental booze-treats. That means a big spoon with vodka jelly on and some cream that tasted like vermouth. As interesting as it sounded, the screwed up faces belied the polite approval it brought as the fat man revelled in the only attention he’d ever got in his life from absolutely anyone. One good thing about Corridor is that the man who served me my drink was so thick that he gave me a tenner instead of a fiver in my change. I saw that as compensation for having to endure a hideous, grotesque place that had the soulless bon homie of a wine-bar in a crap ‘80s American sitcom. Thanks to all of the above, this place will no doubt be a runaway success to yapping fools who buy into a supposed exclusivity and irony. Kill it.

Despite the toe curlingly cringing spiel on the website which attempts to link Corridor to the Ipod(you’ll just have to read it), Corridor really does have a lot going for it. The new toy of Socio-Rehab creator Ian Morgan, this is a bar that has gone to great efforts to make sure you turn up more than once. Atmospheric and über cool it looks like something out of Twin Peaks– only without the midgets and people talking in reverse. Get yourself across the river and frequent this bar for life improving results.

This bar is über über cool. The creator of socio-rehab produced this place so it was always destined for good things. Bringing a feel of New York style to Manchester’s Left Bank, Corrider ‘is a cocktail lounge for late-night chicks and dudes and city slickers, with a Jazz, Soul and Funk nights to entertain you. All I will say further to this is– This place ROCKS!
