For value for money I feel robbed. We book an apartment for 1 night while visiting Manchester for a concert. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, kitchen job. Upon arrival we were not greeted with more than a grunt. Not a great start. Checked in and made our way to the 8th floor past an obstacle course of cleaning equipment that littered the corridors. Open the door to a musty smell of damp — serious damp. Anyway, made our self’s at home, being a Saturday night we had bought ice and drinks, went to use the fridge freezer and the entire thing was iced closed. literally welded shut. Plan b — off for a shower which proceeded to flood the entire main bathroom. Calling reception to report the now multiple problems we were told nothing could be done and that some towel would be sent up. 45 minutes later we had 2 tea towels delivered. No good enough and management have already heard from us.

This was a stay of two halves for us. The apartment itself is very nice, the interior is very nice indeed with a decently-sized kitchen which would make it idea for someone who wants a bit more freedom than a hotel. It’s also very well placed for visits to the city centre and Deansgate. That said, the internet didn’t work, neither wired or wireless with the receptionist offering no reason beyond ‘it doesn’t work’. The apartments were quite hot, no doubt a result of the building being mostly glass. My boyfriend’s dad had the glass shower door explode on him which was a bit concerning and the attitude of the staff wasn’t great. We were told that they didn’t need to keep an incident book, which we were concerned about as it being new, the shower incident could well happen again to a child. Overall, nice apartments assuming they sort out some new-ness issues and improve staff competence and friendliness.
