One thing which really matters if you eat anywhere is consistancy. Somewhere you can go back to again and again. Somewhere you can recommend to friends and family and you know they’re just going to love it. This place ticks all those boxes. It’s well laid out and always pristinely clean. It is quite brightly lit but I’ve never found that a problem. The staff are always friendly — off day does not seem to be in their vocabulary — they are always polite and helpful and will explain the flavour and strength of dishes to curry novices. I’d personally recommend the chicken biriyani. I’m yet to sample a better one from a different restaurant. The same goes for their delicious sizzling paneer, one of their many veggie options. And to round it off, the quality of their beer is excellent. Better than a lot of the bars in the area. As I said, a place you can come back to again and again and it’ll never let you down,

Been here several times now and have always had good experiences. Most recently we had the fish tikka(fantastic), traditional lamb with ginger, and korma. All flavoursome fresh and tasty. The bread here is second to none — the very paragon of naan! The waiter was willing to offer recommendations, which was great, and the service was excellent. Drinks were cold, service was timely despite being busy, and everything was finished off with a Bailey’s which came complimentary with the bill. You can get better Indian food than this, but you have to get on a plane.

You hear the name and you think, Pan Asian, you think Japanese with Korean and Vietnamese with Thai, but it’s actually an Indian restaurant. While there are a few of these to be going along with, Asian Fusion is certainly a worthy little contender. The most noticeable thing about this place is just how fresh the food tastes. A pet peeve of mine is oily curry, much of which I’ve encountered on the Curry Mile, so it was refreshing to see my dopiaza not swimming in ghee, as chunky and as slightly dry as I like my curries. And the rice didn’t experience that stale, slightly chewy texture I find in a lot of restaurants. The ambience isn’t altogether up to scratch as a little overlighting overwhelms the cosy slightly, but with attentive and friendly staff and such yummy dishes it’s worth looking past. It’ll easily match up to the best curry experiences you’ve had and it’s certainly worth considering if you’re an Indian food junkie.

Bit of a confusing name this one, it’s actually a curry house in Chorlton next door to the oldest one in Manchester, the Azad Manzil. It’s actually not too bad either — the poppadoms and dips are good, the naans are fresh and tasty, my mate had a great fish tikka to start and if I go there again, that’s what I’ll have. The staff were attentive and generally pleasant. I ended up with a lamb jalfrezi instead of a chicken dupiaza but that’s more the fault of another mate of mine, who’d managed to hide mine on the other side of the table. The jalfrezi was good though, despite the fact it was a fair bit hotter than the meal I was expecting! It’s probably not the best curry house in Manchester but there’s certainly many worse, and the fish tikka is very good indeed. It’s not too pricey either, well worth a try.
