Arndale Book & Magazine Exchange

This is essentially a collection of crinkly, sticky-​paged ‘special interest men’s magazines’ unconvincingly disguised by a few sparsely filled shelves of plastic wrapped airport thrillers and ‘ard men books (which always remind me of Alan Partridge — ‘books by Dan the Daggerman from er,.Dagenham who tortures you by putting your hair in a fax machine and pressing send’).
Still, as a site of historical interest it is probably worth a visit. The internet has pretty much killed off places like this. Why leaf through a box of musty, pre-​used Razzles when you can one-​handedly type the misspelled name of the most extreme perversion into Google and receive a hundred thousand hits of instant gratification in 0.12 seconds.

Arndale Book & Magazine Exhange is another one of those shops around the Shudehill area that combines selling 2^nd hand John Grisham thrillers with some naughty adult magazines and dvds.
There’s a slightly musty smell in here which didn’t make me want to stay too long, but there’s a decent selection of 2^nd hand books here. There are also some really cheap dvds as well (regular ones, not the naughty ones).
This shop specialises in old retro magazines for collectors as well. But that means magazines like Loaded and FHM. Arndale Book and Magazine Exchange offers part exchange too.
