24 Bar & Grill

I’m really not sure what to make of 24 Bar & Grill. As the location for our office Christmas party, no one at work had heard of it before, and fellow Unilocalers didn’t have any information about the place. Seemed strange that it was a bit of an enigma given how many people it could accommodate — it’s been there at least a couple of years.
It’s in a basement accessed from Princess Street, with a series of connected rooms all of which have some seating. Their bar is extremely long, so of course if there’s 100 of you trying to be served you’re in for a wait. They only had three bar staff on that night which was frustrating.
Our office had organised the entertainment (in the form of a Mariachi band — who were fantastic — and a caricaturist, randomly) so I can’t give the place any credit for those elements. It was hot buffet from one of the side rooms rather than a sit down meal (they have a separate restaurant here but we didn’t have access to that).
They had, however, triple booked that evening, so there were two other companies sharing the venue which we were not told about — cue very unhappy office organisers. My advice would be to get a guarantee that your company will have sole use of the space.
As a venue, it’s conveniently located (more so when St. Peter’s Square Metrolink is open again) and there’s a decent-​sized dance floor, which is an obligatory activity at office parties. I dare say we’ll be unlikely to use it again if it was found they pulled a fast one.

Went here last year during a city break to Manchester. Great food, I discovered beef dripping chips and tom collins cocktail yum and yum! Lovely décor and good friendly staff. Close to everything. Will go back if we have a chance!

If you’re staying at the Aurora Hotel, this is just too convenient to miss. If it’s freezing outside and you’re lazy, don’t stay away.
The bar is nicely stocked and provides one with the Wi-​Fi PW. It’s the second cocktail down the list on the blackboard.
For anyone else, if you’re looking for a solid steakhouse ambience Near St. Peters Square, The 24 should be one place to check out. Service is very friendly and attentive.
Overall, the price of admission is very reasonable. But they can deliver just what you’re looking for. Even a £200 bottle of Champs or a cool pint for £4.
In short, worth a try for everyone nearby.
