This restaurant is by far the best Indian Ive ever eaten in and not just in Luton. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel very welcome, the reastaurant is small and the setting is intimate. Nicely decorated with deep reds and creams with lovely crystal lights all around. Food is excellantly priced with a fabulous selection. They have a good choice of meal deals to suit every budget. We always go for the dinner for 12. This consists of 1 poppadam and chutney tray(the mint dip is lovely!) 1 starter, 1 main, 1 side, 1 rice and 1 naan bread, all this for just £11.95. The Raj special starter is very tasty indeed this is chicken tikka, lamb tikka, seek kebab all served with onions and salad served on a sizzler plater. Their Sag aloo and Mushroom bhaji is beautiful and their Chicken tikka balti is outstanding, the spice balance is perfect, and my boyfriend is a big fan of their Lamb tikka Jalfrezi, they always use the best cuts of lamb and the sauce is full of spicey flavour. Drinks are reasonably priced and you dont wait long for service. Mabs the waiter is very friendly and cant do enough for you. At the end of your meal your brought freshly cut juicy oranges and lemon scented hot towels to clean up with. With the bill your given an extra treat of after eight mints, lovely! Overall this restaurant is excellant and would recommend if not inplaud you to give it a try, shame they arent busier as they totally deserve the custom. We eat here reguarly aswell as have takeaways and we are never disappointed, Ive tried a few places in Luton and none even come close to the Raj.
