Luton Central Library

A great selection of books for adults and children, we go every weekend and the staff are always very helpful and nothing is too much bother.

Luton library is very neat and tidy.
There are lots of sections for different types of books so you can find books easily.
The service is quick.
If we reserve some books in a few days they will be available.
There is a self scaning machine so we can do it if there is a rush on the counter it works neatly.
Professional and helpful staff
They put the little books author wise.
There is wide selection of DVDs and CDs to borrow .
There is also internet facility available on first floor for adults and even in kids section.
Even photocopier is available in library which is easy to operate of our own.
Recently they have a big plan of refurbishmentlasting about 6 months. hope it will be a new BETTER library.
Cons
There are no public toilets in the library.

Very efficient library, always has the books I need. ace. The website is very eficient. The Council and Luton Cultural Services Trust have been awarded £1,247,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to improve the Central Library and increase the range of learning available. With extra funding from both organisations, around £1.8million will be spent on improving the library.
Building work has already begun on the third floor of the library, which means that there is no public access to this floor during the day, so the multifaith room is not available for use. Work begins on the second floor of the library on 17^th November, then the whole library will be closed from 25^th December 2008 to 20^th April 2009, to allow work to be done on the first and ground floors.
