This restaurant used to be one of the best thai places Ive eaten at, however, since a new takeover, the food has been mimicked but not replicated. We experienced many dishes with issues and some were sent straight back. As prices are high, you would expect perfection and unfortunately we have lost one of the best restaurants that existed in Luton.

This restaurant is an old favourite with my family. I think they’ve been going there for over 15 years and the staff there still remember everyone even when the visits have gone down to once a year. Jit Lada has a great reputation and on Saturday every single table is reserved so I would recommended phoning ahead. It is a small restaurant tucked down a little road in central Luton. Inside the hospitality is typically Thai, with warm greetings and cheeky jokes. The food in delicious and I highly recommend the garlicky prawns — they are so popular amongst my family that we have to order 3 portions to satiate our greedy appetites. The appetisers are fantastic with the Gai Boi Toey being juicy, tender and succelent pieces of chicken goodness that practically melts in your mouth. I love the Khanom Pang Na Moo(Pork on toast) which is an old favourite of mine and not often featured in Thai restaurants in the UK. Tasty, friendly and very enjoyable.

I’ve never eaten in at the Jitlada but had take-away from there enough times to know that the food is delicious and the quality can’t be faulted across the vasious dishes I have tried so far. You can’t go wrong with the lunchtime take-away menu at only £4 per dish, including rice or noodles, depending what you go for.

Be warned, it is a very tiny place, so prebook or go in early! The staff is extremely friendly, and the menu — albeit a bit small — is really good! We found the rice portions a bit small, but nontheless very tasty and not too pricey.

Like I said in my review for Nakorn, the two best Thai restaurants in Luton are right next to each other. This place is a little smaller but the food is excellent. Their lunch specials are excellent. One thing that they do better than Nakorn though is their soup. Their soup hotpot is what will cure you if you have a cold. The family that runs the restaurant is usually pretty nice and pretty accommodating. If you have a big group, you might want to call in advance.
