The Blue Boar is a lovely place to eat — it was totally refurbished a year or so ago and changed from a pub to a restaurant with bar. They have two menus — a full menu which is available lunchtimes and evenings and a ‘lite bites’ menu which I think is available only at lunchtimes. One really good thing about the full menu is that instead if offering the normal kids meals(sausage and chips, chicken nuggets and chips etc.) they actually offer all of the adult meals in ‘piglet portions’ at half the price of the adult meals. The food, the wine and the service is all excellent! In the summer there is a lovely outdoor are with huge bench tables under huge parasols and individual tables aswell. I have eaten there many times and will continue to do so. They also have a private dining room ‘The Piggery’ which can be used for large groups — I haven’t actually been in there but I assume that it is of the same high standard as the restaurant, bar and garden.
