This is a medium sized theatre and it offers very comfortable audience seating, a remarkably inexpensive bar, and there is a large free car park at the rear. Each year it hosts the New London Opera Group who perform a Savoy Opera, and this is a recommended show. It has excellent theatrical lighting and sound systems. The theatre is run by members of the local community in Louth and it is great that they are bringing good quality theatre to this rural area. So far as the theatre is concerned, the standards on offer to the audience are as good or better than in the west end of London and a lot cheaper too! Obviously it hosts a variety of touring productions that will vary. Highly recommended.

I’ve only really been to the Riverhead Theatre when my daughter appeared there in her dance shows — however, I was very impressed by it. It’s a fantastic asset to Louth and well deserving of the lottery funding it’s had. There are professional dressing rooms, a well-appointed stage with good lighting and even a bar. Views of the stage are good from all seats because it’s such a small theatre, and this definitely adds to the atmosphere. The Playgoers theatre company often advertise different plays and these get excellent reviews.

Brilliant plays on, all of the time. Not long build and purpose built too. This theatre is really a main part of Louth and one of the only regular forms of entertainment. Its not too bad for parking, its clean and looked after and the prices are pretty good. The people who work there are always friendly.

I have only been to the Riverhead theatre once and i took my children with me when we got 2 tickets to see a show just before christmas last year. The show itself although only a dress rehersal was fantastic! The kids loved it, the only downside i can see to the Riverhead theatre is that it is very small, but then in a town the size of Louth i guess it doesnt really need to be that big! The tickets are very reasonably priced although the prices vary depending on what shows are on but i dont think i have ever seen a ticket advertised that has cost more than £11. The theatre itseld is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
