Despite being a chain restaurant(we’re more fans of little places), this place is great. I was really impressed by the customer service. Our waiter forgot the appetiser, but not only apologised he also gave us complimentary coffees. We all make mistakes and we appreciated the way that this waiter handled the error. The food was good and at a decent price.

If you have been in one Café Rouge then you have been in them all! The waiter sat down with me to discuss front of house matters and it seemed to matter a lot to him so I keenly listened. Then I had wine. Apparently this Rouge is quiet in Saturday evenings so if all else fails you might get a table here!

Food was really dried up, looked like it had been under hot lights too long. Duck was rank. I went before and had moules frites and they still had the beards on them. Not brilliant, other café rouge’s are so much nicer. Plus side it’s a lovely décor, lovely staff and good service.

First things first if you are reading this review and are considering going, book a table! it can get extremely busy so don’t turn up without it booked as you’ll get turned away. It is very clean inside and generally has a good atmosphere. The menu is pretty good, and there is a mix of meat, fish and vegetarian. Their orange juice is delish so def try that out. If they make the Crème Brulee correctly(sometimes it’s warmer than others) it’s fantastic! You can sit outside with your coffee and watch the day roll by(and maybe spot a Towie or two). This is a great place to come with a few friends for a coffee, or for a meal. A coffee generally cost about £2.50 and a dessert will set you back about £5.00(I think the desserts are slightly overpriced for what they are.) There is free wifi &CR often have deals on so keep your eyes on the money saving expert.

Café Rouge is becoming as ubiquitous as McDonalds and as predictable as Pizza Hut. However, the decoration is lovely, the wine list is great and it’s not even that expensive. And you can’t fault the food: I always seem to end up having steak and chips, knowing I should be more adventurous but when the steak is that damn good you just have to. Staff at this one are variable — some are«French style» rude, others are just plain rude, others are very nice. But I’ll be back.

Great atmosphere, great service, good choice of wines, good menu. Great for mothers and children. Not too loud so you can have conversation. My no.1 Choice for a casual place to eat and drink.
