This used to be a favourite lunchtime haunt of mine but they have recently changed their menu and the way they cook their savoury cheesecakes. Infact if you ate here a year ago you wouldn’t recognise them! It used to be that the savoury cheesecakes were baked in an oven(you could see the pans) … my suspicion is that now they are cooked elsewhere and brought in an warmed up. The texture, filling and style has changed completely. No longer do they come garnished with a salad, fruit and crisps. The cakes are still good value and the variety is great. The staff are polite even if it is difficult to understand their Polish accents

For all lovers of cheesecake, this shop is a Godsend. It really functions as a café, with sandwiches, teacakes and general lunch-time/afternoon tea time foods available, but the main draw is the array of cheesecakes. They have a huge menu of every kind of cheesecake you could want– both baked and continental, along with cakes, pies etc etc. I’ve found that the cakes aren’t really that great– stick with the cheesecakes. If you buy a whole cheesecake, you get the most choice, 1 feeds between 6 and 16, depending on how hungry you are! Some are very rich. You can also buy small or large slices, although the choices are somewhat limited for these. The best option(both cost and variety wise) is to buy a ¼ cheescake– these are all to take away. To eat a slice in the restaurant, it costs a fair bit more but it is apparently served on a nice plate with fresh fruit and extra cream. Baked Jamaican Cheesecake is the best.
