Took part in a fitness study. Facilities were great. People were really nice.

Phenomenal University! I am finishing my 5^th year here and it really it top rate. Hence the University of the Year award from the Sunday Times.
It has a massive campus from which you never have to leave if you choose not to.
As a sporting university drugs are very low profile which suits me fine. Drinking is the biggest vice around and the Student’s Union is a superb venue.
The Civil Engineering Department is really top class. As with any Department anywhere the odd lecturer is a let down but in general lecturers are there to help. When I came on an open day I asked what it meant that the Research score for the Department was less than in other places for which I got the reply well do you want to be taught by someone who’s done it or by someone who has spent their life in a lab. Good point and many of the lecturers lend real life experience into the education that can bring the subject alive.

As a Loughborough Alumni, I am obviosly slightly biased but Loughborough University is a fantastic Uni. It is campus based and has most things you could wish on hand. The student village is lively and there are a choice of catered or non-​catered halls. Some of the lecture theatres might be a little dated but I’m sure that is the case for most Unis it can’t all be new build. The nightlife at the Uni is first class with a huge students union which runs a full programme of entertainment with something for most people. Loughborough Town is much expanded from my days but has plenty of pubs and a couple of clubs. If you want something more then nottingham and leicester aren’t to far away for nights out.
One warning beware the purple nasty tastes lovely but will come back to haunt you (and it will be both purple and nasty!)

The campus is large, there are lots of open green spaces. The halls are good, with a choice of self-​catered or catered, and there are loads of courses you can do. I’ve found the teaching is alright– not as good as I’d expected from a top-​of-​the-​tables university. Nightlife etc is good– the Students Union is the biggest in the country. There are a couple of cafes on campus offering lunch in between lectures, and the town has almost everything you need– if not, Nottingham and Leicester are just a short train ride away.

Loughborough University is a great university.
They have plently of nights to go out on a social including nights like FnD (Friday Night Disco) and bars like Cognito and they have great facilities.
Those facilities include the famous cricket training groud where the England Cricket team train.
However i must say that i am unimpressed by the Luffs gym which is really run down and not what i would expect from the number one sports uni.
Also i find that the lecture theatres are a bit run down, theres one where the desks literally tilt forward when the people infront lean forward, you have to catch all your work lol
The libary is fairly decend with 2 levels of quiet area however the café in the libary is much overpriced
Overall the place is nice but i wouldn’t say it was perfect.

Definantly one of the top universities in the country. I have been here for 3 years now and have to say my stay here has been awesome. The facilities the university provide are excellent. The university exceeds at engineering and sports development by housing a major engineering department and vast sports facilities located on and off campus. This is without a doubt the best sporting university in the UK.
Overall this university has ranked as being in the top 10 universities in the country according to the Times online ranking system, based on various statistics. For a student Loughborough comes highly recommended.
