This is about as close as Kingston gets to a city centre pub. One for shoppers by day and night owls in the dark. How do I define a city centre pub? Well, it sells beers, wine, real ale, soft drinks and its crowd is just about more men than women. It has sky sports on during games are live in play and sky news on in the background in the daytime. People pop in for a steak baguette and a half of bitter as much as they drop by for 3 pints of Stella. Located by the bus stops and the shops, it is a good place to people watch I have found whilst waiting for a friend in the Wheelwright’s, but in all honestly, like many city centre pubs, whilst they provide a lot to entertain like quiz machines it is the constantly coming and going of others that is fascinating to watch. I don’t frequent here often, but it is OK. There are better pubs in Kingston, but if you get off a bus or just finish a big shop, it will probably be this one you find without looking for it.
