This is a great 24hr convenience store in Willesden, close to Willesden Green Station. It’s fairly large for an independent supermarket and has a good range of food & drink. According to this list of 24 hour alcohol shops in Willesden( ) this shop has a 24 hour alcohol licence so can sell booze legally at any time of the day or night, which is handy when you want to buy alcohol after hours.

I bought a pack of Purav premium basmati rice of 5kg on 2 way save in Willesden, when I opened it I notice that it was filled with weevil. I had to throw all out. If I buy there again I will be careful.

This place is a gem! I’m glad not many people know about it because it is an amazing place. Firstly it is open 24 hours a day(when all the high street supermarkets are closed on Sundays you can still do your shopping here until the wee hours of the morning). Secondly most of the fruit and vegetable are much cheaper than at your local supermarket. I must admit the quality of the produce does vary from day to day but for the price, I don’t think it really matters if the courgettes/capsicum/apples etc aren’t perfect on the outside. Thirdly the selection is far better than your local supermarket. They cater for a wide range of ethnic groups i. e Asian, Arabic, Chinese, Polish and hence have a wide selection of herbs, spices, pulses, cheeses and meat products to name a few. One of the best things about this place is the fresh meat section i. e butcher as well as the cheese and olive counter at the back. Oh yes and not forgetting the bakery at the rear. This place provides true value for money. It doesn’t look like much from the outside(be warned) but it is very well stocked! I’m glad I found this place. It was a rare and surprising find. Don’t expect to be walking into a high street supermarket though. It has it’s own atmosphere and culture(they are also undergoing refurbishment at the moment). The only thing I wished they’d stock is lemongrass.

This is definitely worth checking out although all too easy to miss. Lots of beans(dried and tinned), breads(pittas, flat breads), cheeses, baclava, tinned stuff, olive oils, vinegars, herbs and spices, Polish foods as well as sundries found in every other shop, plus fresh fruit and veg and a halal butcher in the back. Make no mistake this isn’t a corner shop it’s a fully stocked grocery store with great prices, they take card as well.

Please please please, for yourselves if not for me, when you get to Willesdenn Green, do not cross the road and go into Sainsbury’s local. If you do, don’t blame me if you can’t find what you want and end up stuck in a queue of 20 other human sheep. Turn left and get to Way 2 Save, which, on the outside looks like every other nightshop. But inside there is a wealth of food to suit every cultural community in the area. All the pickled Polish stuff a homesick Pole might wish for, but also a Halal fresh meat counter at the back, along with olives and marinated vegetables, served to you by the staff. Pulses and beans take up a huge section. Sainsbury’s Local ain’t got anything but an overpriced Puy Lentil salad. Here you can buy Puy Lentils by the kilogramme for a fraction of the price. Italian cakes and all kinds of crazy dried fruits, plus fresh fruit and vegetables and even a pretty impressive East Asian section. Think global, buy local in all it’s strip-lit, tile-floored glory.
