This gym is just okay, good enough if you live locally and just want to punch out a workout. I signed-up at this gym but often found myself going to the Wandsworth gym for its far superior layout and pool. This gym was converted from an office building so the ceiling is low and for me this meant claustrophobic. When I was on the stair climber machine I could just about reach the ceiling. This gym is actually pretty enjoyable during off-peak hours but during rush hour you can find yourself waiting for machines. As Christie said, the classes must be great because the queue to get in always fills the small hallway, lots of jostling. There seems to be some fierce competition to sign up for classes and to be honest, I couldn’t be bothered. I know before I left the gym they were working on a better system, telephone or computer but I never lasted that long. The staff are very friendly and really seem to love their gym and to help their customers. The price I felt was too steep especially since the Putney Leisure Centre is some real competition just down the road but I was too lazy to walk that far. Imagine! Too lazy to walk to go for a workout! Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself! :)

This place is very near and dear to my heart as I indulge in the joys of eating… I am also an endorphin addict esp eating a huge and delicious meal after an amazing work out. Compared to the rest of the clubs, this one is tiny but if it’s your home club it costs far less. I don’t mind paying the extra £6 a month for the unlimited towels but if you don’t go very often, probably worth investing in a few Primark towels to wipe your sweat. There are the bare minimum set of weight machines so would recommend going over to Wandsworth if you need more. For the ladies that are self conscious, there is a ladies only section with a few cardio and thigh squeezing machines in the back. I used to loathe going to classes in NY(ehh… NYSC isn’t really known to have good ones) but I have to admit there’s something infectious about the instructors that teach here. They’re definitely best of the best as I’ve been around to many of the other clubs. Tip for newbies — if you’re new to the gym, ask someone to get you up to speed w/the booking process as the most popular classes are always full.
