Went to a Unilocal Pop up Painting event. Café was super cute and spacious, there is a large patio area outside that would be great in the spring and summertime. No review of the food as we didn’t have any but the service was great. The event was loads of fun, and well run by Beth and the pop up painting team. Would love to come back to the café next time I’m in the area.

I’ve walked past this place a few times on my way to Notting Hill and never given it a second glance as it just looks full of tourists and from the outside looks a bit tacky. I recently came for a pop up painting session and inside is actually quite nicely decorated and very light and spacious. The location is near to Kensington Gardens so would be good for a glass of wine or a coffee catch up Not sure on the prices of drinks and food as we didn’t eat however I saw someone with some potato fries that looked pretty good. Keep an eye out for certain evenings for pop up painting sessions as they’re fab! My lesson learnt — don’t judge a book by its cover!

If you’re staying at the Doubletree Hyde Park and get free breakfast as a Hhonors Gold member, this place cannot be beat. They have a solid hot buffet with a variety of eggs, sausages, cereals and breads. You can also order a custom espresso beverage or get tea, coffee or juice. It’s definitely better than similar offerings at other Hilton hotels. During the summer months, this is also a great spot to sit out on the patio. They carry a variety of teas and local craft beers(as well as wine) to sip while people watching. Otherwise, it’s probably best to skip it. Food is moderately priced but a bit much for what it is. And while they try to make it look nice and bright inside, it still feels like a hotel restaurant. With Notting Hill and Kensington High St so close, there are plenty of great options with better food and more ambience.
