Trafik, we need to talk. Open till 5am — pro. £10 entry — con. Good music — pro Fcukin’ rammed — con I did actually have a good time in Trafik the last time I ended up going but yeah was just too many people and the structure of the bar ie a long and narrow one means that people are invariably always walking past you which is a pain in the arse if youre trying to order at the bar. Additionally, you do then end up with filth all over the floor and then when it’d rammo, people step on your feet so your shoes so they end up covered in gunk too… *sigh* On the plus side, the downstairs venue was a little cooler probably because it was playing more House and therefore in Hipster Shoreditch contained less people. I’d like to say that I may not come back to Trafik but I really canna think of another«local» place open until this hour, so like an old flame whom you booty-call even when you both know that you shouldnt, I may end up hot and dirty back inside Trafik again. Oh well, I’m sure, as well regretful the following day, it’ll be enjoyable at the time.

Yea… the enthusiasm I had first entering Trafik definitely stopped to a halt. Way too grungy and soulless for my taste, and the gatekeepers suck. Still, met random people at the dancing section downstairs and the tech music was cool. Would I return? Only if I’m desperate for some nightlife around Shoreditch, but there are plenty more options.

A friend took me here one time, and I was already skeptical before going in. My first impression from the outside is that it is depressing and a complete dive(and not in the quirky and cute way). It is somewhere I have always walked right past. Inside is no different. Imagine all of the sad and lonely creepers of the area in one room, and you’ve pretty much got it! I was scared to even sit down as it gives off the vibe of being unclean, and I was just happy to escape quickly after one quick drink.

I came here on a Saturday night on a bar crawl. Not sure if I’ll come back. The entire place was filled with foggy air(from a fog machine)… and I’m not quite sure why to be honest, except maybe to blind you from how questionable the crowd is. It was extremely overcrowded, which is expected on a Saturday night in Shoreditch but the upstairs bar is extremely narrow. While there is a downstairs area, it’s completely dark and the floors are very sticky. To top it off, the music was pretty horrible and the bathrooms were extremely flooded. Two good things about Trafik: drinks aren’t too expensive and it’s in a decent location.

Not sure about this little place on the edge of Hoxton Sq. We were lured in by the Happy Hour sign and enjoyed our pints for less than 3 quid. The music was good, the atmosphere missing. Since it doors on both sides and the toilettes are outside it gets rather drafty as soon as there less people inside. The staff was nice though and I can imagine a good time here when its busy with the kind of fun people one usually meets in this area.

Oh Trafik… At one point on my amazing journey around London, this would be a place I would hit up every week for a drink and a dance, however i would never stay too long as there was always some sort of a creeper in the down stairs area or it was just far too busy in the upstairs area. I know this place has a lot of potential as it has a lot of business and is in a decent location, but the fact is, it’s really not that wonderful, so i say go on and skip it. There are way better places around it.

Unrealized Potential — — that is the defining statement which can be made about Trafik. There are so many positive things that this place has going for it: its great location, two seperate extrances, great booth tables upstairs, a significantly different club-like experience downstairs. I just don’t know what it is that’s not clicking(it should be great) — the place could have some serious skills if it all comes together.

I am officially old. I learned this at Trafik on Saturday night as I stood on their dance floor, completely perplexed by their need to mix 3 – 5 songs at once. I guess I can understand mixing two songs together once in awhile… but Trafik’s «DJ» insisted on playing several songs at once, all night long. Is this what people are doing now?! It doesn’t make any sense! In fact, it really ticks me off! Call me old fashioned, but I like listening to one song at a time, thank you very much. p. s. The drinks are also overpriced and icky.

Used to be good but it’s now managed by some very rude people. One of them was drunk the last time I went there and was randomly throwing people out.

great little pub/bar right in the centre of Hoxton, a standard first stop off on the way to some of the later night venues, gets really packed later on. has a few good value largers on tap!

Good choice of bar near Hoxton Sq for pre-club drinks. Unlike most bars on the square, it does not have a door policy or queue. If ur planning on going to Cargo or Platic People, id pop in here for one(Kirin Ichiban or White Stripe on tap).

Funky DJs and cool kids galore. Nice for a group night out depending on who’s playing. It’s quite small and can get pretty busy.

Entries on both Old Street and Hoxton square, this narrow but long bar has got potential. On the Old Street end of the bar are big booths for groups of friends whereas the Hoxton square end has low worn in comfy brown leather sofas. Wednesday through to Saturday evening it is very busy due to their late licence. The bar upstairs is quite small in comparison to the length of the venue. However they also have a downstairs bar and dance floor that opens mainly on Friday and Saturday nights sometimes Thursday. Thursday evening you will always find drunken city boys whose egos by that stage are incomprehensible! A good place for a starting point or a night cap.

The drinks are cheap, the food is plain and honest, the music rocks and the crowd is young. Trafik is great for a night out and to catch up on all the latest trends. With great DJs on the decks from Wednesday to Sunday the music is excellent. The cinema screen adjacent to the bar is used to show non-stop surrealist films(which become increasingly intriguing as the alcohol levels increase). The food is what my friends describe as ‘drunken food’ all-day breakfasts, hearty pastas and good burgers, all at good prices. There is a wide variety of drinks and they are really well-priced, especially the cocktails. Having the latest license in Hoxton, this is a good place to head in the late evening, serving food until 1am and drinks until 2am! With such a funky crowd and really good music, you can’t go wrong.
