A decent place to find an above-average salad in London. You can make your own salad or choose from one of their preset options. The ingredients are pretty fresh, lots of choices, and the nutrition calculator online is a nice feature. Prices are fairly high but not insane. The choice of dressings is pretty broad, although it bothered me that you have to go to the till while they pour the dressing so you can’t really control or see how much goes on there. On another note, the branding at Tossed is pretty bizarre. Singing chihuahuas on their website? Check. Décor appropriate for a children’s birthday party venue, complete with faux-grass carpeting? Check. Slightly offensive puns scattered throughout? Yup. I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could, but the make your own salads are still a cut above other places I’ve tried in London.

Having worked in the fashion darhling district for yonks, it was nice to come back to visit and find a new place for some munch. Tossed caught my peepers and caused me to abort my sensible Sainsbury’s sarnie option with its cheery, colourful décor. I was drawn hook line and sinker to the hot brown chicken rice dish, was so scrummy that wolfed it down in no time. Bit pricey maybe for everyday but well worth a look for summit a bit different for lunchy. Noticed they deliver as well. Good good.

I was thrilled with the idea. I love salads. I regularly eat salads as big as my head, but unless you’re one of those shrunken head tiki dolls, don’t expect that here. Seriously one of the most disappointing salads I’ve ever had, and when that’s your schtick, I think you might be in trouble. Oh yes, and it was incredibly expensive, go figure. Maybe, just maybe it’s better if you get one of their suggested salads, but I’m just not willing to give it another try.

fresh produce, lively décor, process-oriented staff. i got a salad. a bit expensive for what it was and they’re super chinsy. i asked to not have a couple ingredients and requested to have(what appeared to be canned) corn added and they charged me 90p. you think it would have netted out in the end for them but they decided to nickel and dime me.

Tossed is a place where you have to be happy to eat in there. The bright colours won’t let you be sad — if you are, you may wish to find somewhere else to sit with your egg butty and cup of tea. In addition, it probably wouldn’t rate too highly in the ‘top ten places to dump your partner’ category. Tossed aims to be a café for the health conscious, where you can order your caffeine-laden hot drink of choice with an egg butty whilst being reminded of slightly healthier options around you. My egg and cheese roll was rather odd — already prepared then when ordered, thrown into a panini grill and toasted within an inch of its life — perhaps to ensure that the already-cooked egg was cooked thoroughly. The result being a rather burnt sandwich. Saying that, it worked for my slightly hungover belly — charcoal, I guess. I sat on fake grass to eat my roll and drink my peppermint tea(OK so I skipped the caffeine bit that morning), which I thought was rather endearing and whiled away the time until my upcoming interview, making full use of the accessible toilet. This is a new location for Tossed(and the first I have visited) — although the breakfast butty was not unpleasantly odd, I did like the overall cheerfulness of the place. Looking at reviews of food from other branches, I would try them for size over lunch sometime, when I have a job again.
