I think the name instantly puts me off… But actually inside it is quite a nice light bar with colourful fresh flowers, lots of mirrors and a glitter ball. Before 7pm cocktails are reasonably priced at £5.50 but we went for their hibiscus G&T. It was good and you could definitely taste the gin but the hibiscus wasn’t there and meant you kept sucking up dry petals — not particularly pleasant. Overall good for popping in for a quick drink but I wouldn’t recommend as a must go to!

Popped in here after work with the Drinki app and honestly I was so disappointed. The drink was a hibiscus g&t and honestly I expected just a little more flair than a basic g&t with some petals thrown in… I guess I can’t complain because I got it free but meh… The bar itself is nothing to shout about, fairly mediocre.

Nice little bar to grab a cocktail. They have«stupid hour» from 5 – 7:30 so it’s good value for cocktails then, Its not greatest of cocktails but it is pretty decent! They have outdoor seating for the summer months to enjoy a cheap cocktail in the sunshine. There is also a basement bar.

Really good cocktails here! Must go for happy hours! We watched the World Cup here, wasn’t too crowded. Got the lychee martini! Lots of choices on the menu so definetly bring a long if you want to have an adventure trying out exotic tastes!

Noisy, small, crowded and apparently obsessed with Eminem. My only visit to this bar consisted of an entire Eminem album, and while I don’t dislike his music, if I want to hear an album I will buy it online…

I’ve never come here in an evening but during the day it’s fantastic coffee bar with excellent coffee and toasted sandwiches, friendly staff and brilliant music.

Pop up coffee shop in the daytime is great. Ex-Milk Bar baristas, lovely Coleman’s coffee, probably the best in Soho I think. Seats outside are great for people watching.

came here for cocktails during stupid hour. i like cheap cocktails! the ambience inside this bar is not great(and neither is the music!) but if you sit outside it offers wonderful soho people watching opportunities… plus there is a brothel across the road and watching the punters roll up and out made my saturday afternoon!

If you want the best cocktails ever you go to Thirst. The staff really know what they are doing and have been consistent over the last couple of years. But be warned: The service is slow(good cocktails take time) and the bar is always crowded. There is a dancefloor below, but it is usually so packed that you can’t move on it. My tip: Try and make it to the happy hour.

Solid bar this. They run a stupid hour followed by a happy hour, and then engage normal pricing. Besides cost the drinks are actually good and they have a pretty big selection of cocktails to choose from. Plenty of space, open late, in a good area.

Thirst is not a great bar … just a good one. But i have started ending my drunken night-outs there quite often recently. 1. They make decent cocktails … and are not averse to pouring some extra booze into the glass if you are one of the last customers. 2. The staff is very friendly. 3. They have a £5 per person entry fee later in the evenings … but that’s occasionally open to negotiation :) 4. There is a dance floor in the basement with some good music … but for those who just want to drink upstairs, its not very loud. 5. You can sit near the big windows that face the street and watch the inebriated world stumble by. 6. Its in Soho and is open till 3AM … priceless ! Its one of the only alternatives left for that last drink at 2:30.

Best Cocktails Ever! If you love great quality cocktails made with fresh ingredients, you will love Thirst! They have an extensive cocktail menu and you can tell the bartenders are serious about making you the drink of your dreams. This is a chill bar with a cool modern feel. Upstairs you can sit and enjoy your cocktails and the music isn’t too loud. I haven’t hung out downstairs — where I noticed there is a dance floor. It looks cramped down there. However, upstairs is perfect, nicely lit with candles. They have a happy hour, crazy hour, and insane hour — or something like that. Basically if you go early, the cocktails are at very good deals. This is the ideal bar to go to before a big night out. Perfect happy hour venue or place to go before a dinner. Truly great cocktails. The bartenders even take a straw and pull out a sample to make sure that your drink was made perfectly.

Thirst is nothing more than a nice little bar located in a basement in Greek Street. We spent two hours in this bar with my polish friend Piotr. We had a couple of beers and really enjoyed the House music played by a talented DJ. The public was very eclectic. Some of them obviously got there by chance. Tourists like us maybe. The barmen were extremely nice: two guys from Spain whose cocktails were appreciated very much by some of the customers. There is also a little room next to the tiny dance floor where people can chat and relax. What can I add? It’s just a nice and friendly little DJ bar where you can spend one or two hours as a pre-party.

Had lots of fun here for a friend’s birthday party recently. Cocktails are good — really liked their French Martini, and the barmen were able to make a few that weren’t on the menu which was good. Of course, cocktails are even better when they aren’t ridiculously expensive — so that makes me a big fan as they were quite reasonable and my bank balance didn’t take too much of a beating which is always a good thing! Will def try and get in for their happy hour at some point soon :)

Cheap drinks & cocktails right in the heart of Soho and never a pretentious crowd! I love frequenting Thirst bar on a Friday night, after an exhausting week at the office — its in a central location, is situated right on the corner of Frith and Bateman Street(so lots of standing space outside and often spilling over onto the streets as there’s very little through-traffic, especially nice during Summer) and is oh-so close to Chinatown(for a good feed after Stupid and Happy hours are over). Whilst the upstairs area may seem quite small and cramped — there is a whole other floor downstairs, with cosy lounges and tables where mates can meet up and chat about their week over a couple of Long Island Iced Teas. I’ve tried quite a number of cocktails here now and whilst I can’t say that they are fantastic cocktails, for what I’m paying(basically around 5 quid per cocktail) and for the location, its definitely a great starting out point on a big Friday night out before hitting nearby clubs! Also, on quieter ‘school nights’, Thirst bar transforms into a mellowed lounge bar(with good chilled music) where you can catch up with friends for a few drinks before heading out to dinner or catch a West End show, or just to carry on…

I like this bar for a few reasons: Great cocktails Small and intimate — though on a busy night it can get a bit crowded. The great DJ I saw downstairs The late license Try and get there early to avoid the variable cover charge

If Holyoaks is one of the things noted on your list of guilty pleasures, you’ll know what I mean when I make distinctions between Soho cocktail bar Thirst and the«SU Bar». Pompously chic, Thirst is clad in faux minimalist design(even down to the tables which only seem to fit two drinks at a time) with dimly lit fluorescent lighting, reminiscent of the garish lights boy racers wield on the underside of their cars. As I sat down with my White Russian(which I can safely say, being a favourite of mine, wasn’t half bad) amongst the other customers who had been reeled in by the marketing strategy«stupid hour” – selected drinks at half price – , I got the feeling that perhaps Thirst was better suited for white collared business men who wanted that quick hit of something before rushing off back home. Downstairs there was an open area, obviously intended for DJ’s, but seeing as I was there at 5:30pm it was sparse and empty so I can’t really make an appropriate comment. But with the current credit crisis, perhaps one should be less adverse to their surroundings especially if they’re spending their hard earned pay cheques on getting legless; and perhaps we should be looking for places like Thirst which do offer great drinks at great prices.

A group of friends and I used to go to Thirst every week, always making sure to get there before 7pm to catch the Stupid Hour cocktails, which are on from 5−7pm each day. The menu is extensive, the drinks professionally made and the prices spot on. The only problem is the bar itself, which is pretty unremarkable and more like a club than a bar, which feels a little odd to be in before 7pm. If there early then upstairs is the best option, but you’ll be lucky to get a seat if there’s more than two of you. This means you may have to sit downstairs, which is the club-like area of the place, with a small dancefoor, and some more seating tucked behind it. My friends and I have often been the only ones down here on a weeknight, which is fine for a good catch-up, but could benefit from the ambience a crowd brings. I have only been in here a few times past the happy hour as it doesn’t play my type of music, but the problem of rattling around downstairs that you get on a weeknight is obliterated by crowds of dancers. It’s a good vibe if House music is what you like. I will always be a patron of Thirst purely for the cocktails which are by far the best value in the area.

Thirst is a friendly little bar in Soho that serves up great cocktails and music. They have a Stupid(Happy) hour that runs till 7.30pm. I haven’t been to the Stupid Hour as I always use Thirst as a late night bar due to its late licence. The atmosphere is always bouncy and drinks flow freely with the relaxed, unpretentious crowd. By no means is Thirst one of my favourite bars, but if you are not sure where to go and you are in the area, this two storey little haven is good for a late night, unobtrusive dance.
