A bit disappointed given the glorious Unilocal reviews. I would try the Sweet Potato and chick pea burger on a leaf. Light and it goes well with the pickled onions. Value for money.

I got the Halloumi Burger in a box with the slaw and potato salad. Great, healthy, satisfying food in one of the best food markets anywhere.

Vegan-friendly burger stand in not so vegan –friendly Borough Market. What a breath of fresh air! Very limited selection, only 2 types of burgers and a few sides to choose from, but that’s fine by me. The vegan burger and potato salad I got was quite good. Very filling. There was a line but it moves pretty quickly. Cash only.

Delicious! I scouted out all the stalls at borough and hands down chose to go with their quinoa veggie patty over salad topped with an onion relish. So yummy! Friendly folks. I bought two of the parties frozen to cook at home! I’ll be coming back!

I ran into these guys in two different farmers markets and their burgers and salads were quite tasty. Their menu is simple. They offer a vegetarian and vegan option for burgers, and three different salads. You can choose different combinations. I tried all and loved everything.

I ordered the organic superveg burger on one of the seed-covered buns. This was the first mixed vegetable patty that I had, and it has given me a very good first impression. When eating meat burgers, I am used to the patty and its juices being front-and-center. It was quite interesting to eat a burger which relied on balance and a mixture of flavors.

For a vegetarian, the huge size of the Borough Market means that a lot of niches are well catered for. So while The Veggie Table is a obvious exclusively vegetarian and vegan stall, Pieminister have a vegetarian pie for us and there are a handful of Middle Eastern places which also seem to do vegetarian well, plus there are other vegetarian bits and pieces at every turn. The Veggie Table was an obvious stall for me to checkout. I had their halloumi burger on a salad box, which I think was £6 or thereabouts. I have to say that the burger completely lacked the salty taste and chewy texture of a plain old slice of halloumi. What I remember of the salad box is a barley salad and also a potato salad but without any sort of creamy dressing. To my lacto-vegetarian palate, the whole box tasted far too much of a worthy ticking vegan nutritional boxes and lacked spice and seasoning. I ended up paying £2 to Kappacasein for a slice of grilled cheese to add some much needed flavour, nourishment and unctuousness to the box. Actually, given that several of the Kappacasein reviews refer to being overwhelmed by the amount of grilled cheese on a whole sandwich from Kappacasein(or advise sharing a sandwich between two or three) maybe I have discovered a Middle Way forward, as the addition of grilled cheese made The Veggie Table’s burger and salad box ‘work’ for me. However, I continue to search for the holy grail stall which manages to combine both the rigorously healthy eating ethos of stalls like The Veggie Table with the spicy kick of more ethnic eateries. Still, with so many eating out places not living up to the maxim, «Above All, Do No Harm»(to animals or to their customers!) The Veggie Table is easily worth four stars!

I’m lovin ‘it comme dirait l’autre.Ndlr: comptez 5 £ le veggie-burger et 6£ la barquette.

Total Borough market rip-off. 50pence worth of ‘organic veg’ with no apparent provenance sold in the form of a disentegrating burger by a self-righteous stall-holder who handles his beard & filthy change alongside the food he expects you and yours to then swallow for the privilege of £6 each. Unwholesome contempt for customers probably comes from making money from intimidated tourists who feel incapable of complaining.

i love borough market, and despite it’s many, many stalls of food offerings, i can’t seem to get past the veggie table! the halloumi burger in a bun is my most favourite, it is delicious. i tried the vegan superveg one on a salad another time, and it is also gooooooood, but cheese is wonderful, so the halloumi burger wins. i like how you can buy them frozen and take them home to eat. that is good to know! my friend also fell in love with the french man at the stand. she was quite speechless in his presence. i am a spoken for lady, and i have eyes for no one else but my boyfriend, but oh my… he has a lovely smile, and a beautiful accent!

Last night I dreamt of the lunch I once had at the Veggie Table. Isn’t it extraordinary? Especially since I’ve been there only once, a few months ago! But there I was, eating my lunch from the Veggie Table food stand at Borough Market all over again in my dream. And it did taste amazingly good! So, back to reality, as I said, I once had a very good lunch from this spot. A delicious box filled with vegetables, hummus and a veg burger. I ate that lunch in the church cemetery which was obviously soooo exotic for the French tourist I am in London, which made me love it even more. And I remember that the staff was very friendly and the price was really ok. So what else shall I say? I want to eat from the Veggie Table and not dream about it, goddamnit!

After a heady and dizzying early morning at the Borough Market, just as the crowds were beginning to swell and my stomach was beginning to rumble alarmingly, my sweetheart directed me to The Veggie Table. I got the Superveg with hummous for £5, and promptly devoured it as my sweetheart went off in search of falafel. The Superveg is perfect for someone like me who prefers a veggie burger with some bite, is packed full of good stuff(organic vegetables, quinoa, nuts, sultanas and cumin) and was super satisfying on a chilly Saturday morning. The vendors are also super nice, and even though«Guaranteed to keep you going all day!» is in the description of the Superveg on their website, it felt like they were just cheerily letting me know.

The Veggie Table is owned by a husband and wife team who sell food at market stalls in London, primarily at Borough Market, Whitecross Street Market and, my personal favourite, Broadway Market. The Veggie Table has a simple menu: two types of veggie burgers, offered over a mixed salad, on a leaf of lettuce or on a whole grain bun. At first glance one might think this is just a veggie burger, just, ya know, rabbit food. But look closer, and you’ll see their veggie burgers are much more enticing than some raw chopped veg on a tasteless bun. For starters, there is the Organic Superveg burger. It is made with organic vegetables, nuts, sultanas, cumin and the ultimate ingredient: quinoa. This burger is packed with protein which is not easy to find in a vegetarian diet, and it is absolutely delicious. Once you’ve ordered the burger, you then choose from an array of sauces to go on top like organic hummus, caramelised onions, pesto or tomato and chilli chutney which makes for a yummy, juicy mix of fresh flavours. Typically the salads they have on offer consist of things with protein like mixed beans or a lighter option of salad leaves, carrots and sultanas. I’ve had the Organic Superveg a couple of times only to mix it up a bit, but it is almost impossible to pass up what is in my opinion the ultimate veggie burger with such a fabulous name: Heavenly Halloumi. According to their website, and I can attest, this is a match made in heaven: halloumi cheese with organic carrots, courgettes, fresh mint and coriander. It is hot, melty and crunchy, and over salad with their organic hummus, it is my favourite lunch at the moment. The Heavenly Halloumi burger is healthy but it tastes a bit naughty and with a protein packed salad and seeds sprinkled over the top, it keeps you full for hours. My only gripe is that the woman who runs the stand with her husband is never, ever in a good mood. Her food is delicious but she should cheer up her husband is much friendlier and willing to talk about the food with me which I always appreciate. However, it’s not enough to put me off eating there once a week because their food is just perfect.

All I can say is, BOMB.COM Carnivore? Vegan? Veg? You’ll love this anything at The Veggie Table. The food is just THAT good. Every time I visit Borough Market, I cannot help but visit the stand. My favourite is the gluten-free burger made from sweet potato. But the veg one with cheese is also like a dream. Their hummus is a must too. And the carmelized onions… Man. The downside is that the que for the stand is always a mile long. But so worth the wait. Now lets be real. I’ll be back at the Veggie Table next weekend… and the next and probably the following after that.

I went twice to The veggie table at Borough market this month, and I tasted one of their veggie burger and Salad. There were so amazing! The choice is large between burgers, soups and fresh salad. the food is so fresh and healthy. The veggie table is situated at the fantastic Borough market, but also in Broadway Market, Whitecross Street market, The slow food market and Venn Street market. I definitely love it and will go back!

I got a dollop of free hummus and salsa just for smiling. It was a rather gloomy Saturday afternoon at Borough Market, and apparently all of their prior customers’ attitudes aptly mimicked the weather.(How one can be Grumpy McGloom at Borough Market, the foodie market of joy and glee, is just beyond me, but whatevs. Their loss of free dollops.) So I told them that I was smiling because I was exceptionally excited to try all of their vegan goodness, beany gluttony and lacto-veggie lurv that I had read so many wonderful Unilocal reviews of. They then told me they knew all about Unilocal and religiously read their reviews. Which made me smile even more. Thus proving my point that Unilocal is the circle of life, ultimately.

Amongst the stalls of Borough Market with vendors pushing meat, meat and more meat is this little vegan/vegetarian food stall of the gods. You get your choice of a lacto-veggie or vegan burger and can opt to eat it in a bap, on top of a load of veggie/beany salads, or in a bap along with veggie/beany salads on the side if you’re feeling particularly gluttonous. I really enjoyed everything I tasted(I opted to get a box filled with a little bit of everything on offer along with a vegan burger on top); I can’t find fault with any of it. However, I do have to quibble a bit about the cost. I know that the Veggie Table operates in a market and by going to this market I should therefore expect to pay a premium for the goods I purchase therein, but the cost of raw ingredients for vegan food simply isn’t that high, and if I don’t even get the benefit of sitting down while I eat my lunch, since there is no dedicated seating at Borough Market, that £5 price point begins to look a bit steep to me. Because, I mean, how much can it really cost for the little stall that Veggie Table occupies at the market? All that said, the food was hella good and I wouldn’t hesitate to eat it again. I would just swallow my dissention down along with all that vegetarian deliciousness.

Where else can £5 get you a brimming box full of vegan goodness? Roger W has pretty much covered the essentials. It’s a stall in Borough that always seems to have a steady line of patrons, with a quick and easy menu to choose from. Two burgers(Super Veg or Heavenly Halloumi), Salads(carrot, rye, potato, chickpea, bean), and Sauces(salsa, hummus, pesto). Me and Larissa D enjoyed the £5 combo, which gets you a burger and as much of the salads as they can fit into the box, plus one scoop of salsa(each extra scoop of sauce is 50p). I don’t feel as bad inhaling the whole box in 5.2 minutes knowing that everything is from the earth and good for you. The chocolate covered ginger from the Cranberry stall that we consumed afterwards… now that’s another story.

Ran across The Veggie Table while visiting friends in London. They wanted us to try the Falafel at The Borough Market but while we were pushing our way through the heavy Saturday crowd I spied The Veggie Table out of the corner of my eyed, and being the good Vegan that I am I was captivated immediately. Apparently there was some form of line system going around the right side of the booth which I managed to bypass by just walking straight to the front per someone’s inattention. Success! The setup is very straight forward: There are 2 types of veggie burgers one of which is Vegan, so I went for that one. Then it came to the salad options. When they asked if I wanted some of everything I immediately blurted out an emphatic YESPLEASE! They keep a solid number of burgers on the grill during the lunch time so once your bucket is full of salad you slide down and receive the burger and are immediately eating. The Veggie Table is very unique in their offering because their burger is made from scratch and does not contain any tofu or mock meat. Form their website: «The ultimate veggie burger, made with organic vegetables, quinoa, nuts, sultanas and cumin. Bursting with protein, calcium and iron, its gluten free, vegan and absolutely delicious. Guaranteed to keep you going all day!» More from their site: «Is it a curry, or a soup? Both! Made with tomatoes, chickpeas, lentils and wonderfully natural flavours. Delicious on its own and with rice, quinoa or couscous. Gluten free and vegan, the perfect meal.» In the end I cannot give The Veggie Table enough praise. The name is golden, the setup is logical, and the food is sublime. Even if you are not a Vegan or Vegetarian it is worth trying.
