The best Indian take away I’ve ever had. My advice– pick it up and DONOTASKFORDELIVERY. Kind of crazy that a place that makes such great food and are professionals when you go in seen to have such a dodgy delivery system! Whenever we order– which is maybe four times a year– they answer the phone and know who we are! The biryani is great, not overpriced, the smokey flavour on their meats is amazing. The okra side dish is killer, and naan is great. I will confess I’ve not tried a huge range on the menu because the lamb Biryani is so more-ish. I’ll stick with walking to collect, makes me feel a little less lazy for ordering take out anyway!

Ordered delivery and were pleasantly surprised. Heat level on spicy dishes was spot on. Lentils, chicken dishes, sag paneer and rice all good. Samosas– veggie and lamb so so but arrived hot and we were well fed!

We ordered our food a good couple of hours before we wanted to eat, yet the food still turned up late. and freezing cold When we sat down to eat it was obvious the contents had been re heated, meat was tough and shrivelled up, and very, very poor quality We tried to call to complain, no one answered the phone, we sent an email, no one replied Save your money, absolute rubbish

we ordered from Hornsey Tiffin Tin last night Friday 2 January 2014. The Dahl was watery and not very flavoursome, the bhuna ghosht was in part like old goat although other pieces were tender. All three curries, the Bhuna, the vegetable and the Brinjal had the same sauce which was quite tasteless anyway. All in all an unwholesome experience. Will be steering clear in future.

I think it about the best Indian take away in the locality and I have tried every single one out. The food is consistent and feels authenthic. The place itself looks spotless too.

Decent enough food. It seems very fresh, which is great. Delivery times tend to be really long as other have mentioned. I’ve also experienced missing items, and one occasion my roti was missing so I had nothing to eat my curry with. I had to wait another HALFANHOUR for them to send me the roti, so had to keep my food in a dish in the oven, which isn’t great reallyI’d have thought they might thrown in something for the trouble but they didn’t :( The food is alright, but it’s nothing special. It’s just that London has so much terrible curry that this place stands out as good. The dishes could do with being richer and spicier Every time I order I ask for it to be extra spicy, but still end up having to chop up chillies and coriander to bring it up a level. Sadly like many other London curries, many of the dishes are too sweet(why is that!?) growing up in Bradford/West Yorks I’ve never come across the blandness and sweetness that appears to be in abundance down here. The roti’s aren’t great but at least they sell them! Anyway, that aside it is worth a go, and it’s not too pricey.

Great Indian take away, fresh ingredients not too greasy always cooked fresh. I am yet to find an Indian take away of better quality, the Hornsey one in particular is very good having tried a few of their other branches.

‘ve not had a delivery to be able to confirm the other review for this takeaway, but I can say that the quality of the food is amazing. My personal favourite is the 20a, a Murgh Jaypur, outstanding. I have friends that come to my house especially to order from this takeaway. They’re always nice and friendly when you go in, and they always give you popodoms for free, which is a nice bonus

This should be a higher ‘star’ rating to be honest, however, using the delivery service ruins the otherwise quite good food. We have used this place twice in 12 months and on both occaisions we were told the food would take 45 minutes, last night we ordered at 20:14 and the food arrived at 21:37. .. . not good enough.

The best indian food I have ever eaten and I’m indian. I’ve eaten in those so called top Indian restaurants in town and this one beats them hands down. Just like my mums cooking. Top place.

I have tried Tiffin Tin 3 or 4 times so far, ordering different dishes each time for a fair assessment. I have to say that although the ingredients(spinach and others) taste fresh and each sauce is good, I always find the meat dry. I like my chicken pieces to be juicy and melting, but theirs were not at all. I wonder if they pre-cook chicken pieces from chicken breasts then reheat them on order with the relevant sauce. If so then that would explain the dryness. Yes, the dishes are tasty, but the meat really let them down. I also struggle a bit for choice, I don’t find the menu wide enough. Some more garlic-ginger and saag based dishes would be a bonus. After reading all those reviews about how«amazing» their food is, I was disappointed. I have been to dozens of Curry houses in the UK and abroad, as well as tasted the real deal(several dinners in Indian family homes) and my satisfaction of a meal from Tiffin Tin would be rated as just«OK». I read that the nearby sit-down restaurant(near Priory Park-N8) called Elahee is good, so I will try it instead next time I want to order an Indian dinner.

A friend recently commented that the only thing tying him to London these days was Tiffin Tin and while I wouldn’t go quite that far, I’d certainly miss not being able to order from this place. Where else can you get an Indian takeaway made from noticeably fresh ingredients with such great variety and that never leaves you with the slightly dirty feeling that most curries cause? It’s certainly a new experience for me! They’re also incredibly prompt. I live in Holloway Road and 40 minutes often means 20 or even less…

Had the family round for dinner on Saturday night and ordered Indian from this place. As we have just moved into the area this was our 1st taste from this take away restaurant, and what a fantastic find! The food came within an hour as we did order loads of food & came perfectly packed and all the dishes were hot. The mix grill for staters was my fav and the currys we ordered just fantastic! fresh herbs & spices used and no processed rubbish. Will order again & again & again. Price a little expesive but you do pay for what you get. Thank you to the team there and my family were all really happy.

This is really good delivery Indian food, although you have to wait at least 45 minutes. It tastes very fresh.

The food is kind of standard to good takeaway, but NEVER order delivery. We have tried to do this on two separate occasions from two different addresses and have been told our postcode does not exist. Seeing that we live in an old Victorian, it was mildly frustrating(especially since Royal Mail seems to find it and deliver my post most days). Don’t even attempt to use a credit card. Not good enough for the hassle. You might as well cook.

The best Indian food in North London, you have to try it. They only do walk in collection or take away, but the taste and quality is second to none and all dishes are freshly made to order. If you go to pick up your order you can even see them making your food. Another great thing is that they will deliver at any time you wish, so i usaully order at 18.00 for a 20.00 delivery and they arrive on the dot. You always get free popadoms which is a nice touch and appreciated as they are so tasty and crisp.
