Being from up north and daring to venture out for a few beers in London, we set off looking for a couple of(over-priced) pints near Covent Garden and a friend recommended The Roundhouse. His recommendation must’ve been good as we stayed in here until last orders(and beyond). I really enjoyed the atmosphere and it had a true pub feel to it. Pints we’re reasonable priced for the area, you can’t really go anywhere in London and get beers for under £5, so I wasn’t too annoyed with the price tag. The Roundhouse doesn’t get the 5th star because there was nothing to really shout about and it didn’t have the wow factor that some places have. That being said, for what it is, a pub, it does a damn good job ticking all the boxes. I only drank lager on this occasion, so didn’t get to sample the ales on draft, nor did I get to quiz the bar staff on how local the brewery was( Unilocal is slowly rubbing off on me). All in all a great watering hole near a very very(very) busy area of London.

I’m at the iTunes Festival, there isn’t a better venue for music in the world. Crowds & music are equally unbelievable!

Found myself here on a hot sunny Wednesday afternoon(yes, we’ve had one this year), and can honestly say that there aren’t many places in London which I’ve been to that I passively hated(as opposed to active hatred and rage) as much. The staff were lacking in numbers, and in personality and desire to serve, the pubs interior was dark and unwelcoming, the tables were sticky and seemingly uncleaned, and the food which the menu proclaimed as «world famous» or some such… well, most of the items had been redacted from the menus(not sure if this was temporary or permanent). In terms of a selection of alcohol, as a cider lover, in the warm London sun, I also found it completely lacking in any decent apple based drinks… And many that’s a bad reason to vote any place down, but what can I say, as a pub you need a good cider selection. I didn’t actively hate it, but would be in absolutely no rush to go back here, ever.

I wouldn’t recommend the food, but the beer selection is decent and it’s a good place to grab a pint before going to one of the billion theaters around here.

Popular seeming pub(at least it was pretty busy on the first Saturday of February. Rugby on the tv may in part acount for that). Nice dark wood interior, decent service and a generally good range of types of beer and spirits.

Stumbled across this pub by accident while looking for a place to have Lunch and decided to try it out. Got the fish and chips with Tarter Sauce and mushy peas. The fish was very tasty and the chips were perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend this pub. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Good and busy traditional pub in an area with a good choice of them. Good choice of drinks, including real ales. Especially the fact that they serve my favourite Old Peculier made me to give it 4 stars. It still has a personality of its own and the service is friendly. Surely they also serve decent food. It also allows you a look on the Rose and Crown opposite were I only got a seat after trying 9 times.

When I was in London for a few days, I visited many pubs. This was my favorite of those that I visited. In fact after going in to two other pubs one evening, my coworker and I took the tube across town just to come back to this pub because we liked it better than anywhere else we had been. It’s a chill place where everyone is friendly. The bartenders are cool, friendly and are quick with pints of delicious beer. They were also helpful in recommending beers that they thought I would like. I will definitely hit this place up again when I get back to this side of the pond.

The Roundhouse is a nice enough pub with a fairly good selection of drinks and food. The food is the standard kind of pub food-it’s not amazing but it fills a hole and there’s the usual beers and ciders as well as spirits. It has a traditional quality to the interior and there are often a lot of people standing and sitting outside as the pub itself isn’t that big inside. Also with the smoking ban you’ll always find groups of people outside. It’s really close to Covent Garden so it’s in a great location and never short of trade. If you’re just looking for a drink I would say this is an ok place to go but you’ll find better in the area.

Small, traditionally decorated pub, just off the tourist trail in nearby Covent Garden. The pub has an unusual triangular shape as it’s set on a corner with glass on two sides, so it can feel a little like drinking in a goldfish bowl. There’s an extensive, roped-off pavement drinking area, which also caters for those who need to smoke. It used to be a little seedy, but after a thorough refurbishment is now a decent enough pub. It’s not somewhere you’d want to spend the whole evening, but it’s nice enough as a central and easy-to-find place to meet. The main attraction is the choice of real ales — usually 4 or 5 on tap, and decently served. It gets packed with the lunchtime and after-work crowd, but is a bit quieter at other times of the day.
