Hired out the majority of this for some works drinks after a meeting nearby. Nice position by the water and very convenient for Vauxhall tube/rail. Reasonable priced house wine(by the bottle). Tiny pies on big plates!

With such amazing options around Vauxhall, I can see why The Riverside has such a low rating. With that in mind, I personally think it’s a decent restaurant/bar for a casual meet up. I work nearby, so this is one of the more convenient options for me to go to for meetings or work drinks, and we purposely chose this place because the food and drinks are slightly cheaper than their neighbour: Brunswick House The first time I came, I loved the food. I ordered the King’s cure smoked salmon, potato cake watercress salad and chive crème fraiche off their regular menu two times. The first time, it was delicious; decent size portions and fresh salad. The second time, however, looked as though it had been sitting out for awhile. Either the regular chef wasn’t around, or they changed chefs in the span of 2 weeks. Come to think of it, the dessert on my second visit tasted like it came out of a package item. We ordered the sticky toffee pudding. The atmosphere is nice though and the restaurant is nicely situated right beside the River Thames. I can see this as a very nice venue in the summer, especially with the beautiful patio area they have. The service is pretty normal: nothing extraordinary, nothing horrible either. I’m looking forward to more work socials and coffee meetings here. But I’m also wanting to try out venues in the area as well.

It gets two stars because it’s warm on a cold day. Generic, sterile, over priced. The worst of what is bad about London. The food menu is standard pub fare, but quite expensive and small portions. Atmosphere is lacking, and staff rarely attentive. Go elsewhere…

Nice place to sit outside and have a beer but avoid food at all costs, especially the burgers. Instead have a pint, enjoy the sunshine if you’re lucky and watch the life pass by.

Worst food out of all the pubs I’ve been to. Burgers are especially horrible — overcooked and tiny.

The Riverside is nice – if you’re looking for a standard pub experience diluted by the desire to fit into a giant high end residential complex. I can see what the nice attributes of The Riverside are– — good food selection — large space which is actually quite rare in London — beautiful view and location — standard bar selection –but at the same time, these things are overshadowed by the fact that I feel like I’m sitting in an American chain restaurant. It’s probably because of the open floor plan, but the essence of pub experience is lost at the Riverside. If you’re in the area though, the food is good and worth taking a rest while overlooking the river.

Terrible service. Bar staff wouldn’t replace a drink when they poured the wrong wine, food is cold, expensive and tasteless. Recommend you avoid at all costs

What a lovely place to have a late summer drink and dinner??! The food here is AM.AZ.ING. I had the Fish Pie and it was so filling and wholesome and tasty and awesome! My mate has the vegetarian curry and she said it was great too! Good value! Amazing views and vibe!

The Riverside is so sterile and generic you really needn’t bother coming out of your way to drink here. I, however, used to work in that most hideous tower on the other side of the Thames, just along from this bar, and if my colleagues and I fancied a change from the limited array of pubs in the area we would sometimes drop in after work. They do some decent nibbles and I was fairly fond of their nachos. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, the latter surrounded by patio heaters — always very handy! They also put deckchairs out the front when it’s sunny — great on those hot summer evenings that we occasionally get to enjoy here in London. If you’re in the area and you fancy a drink then this place will do if the other pubs are full. You could probably find a pub with more character in the area, however, if it’s hot and sunny and you fancy a drink outside then this is your place — you’re almost guaranteed to find a seat.

This place is a little bit too big and a little bit too posh for me. It is also Young’s Ales at their most expensive(beer quality is alright though) and I’d avoid a Vodka Red Bull unless 6.60 sounds fair to you(shock of the price woke me up before I could even get started on my carbonated caffeine). I imagine that the riverside location is much better in the summer(they surely have some outside area then?) but I was here in Winter and I can only review what I see!

Beer is alright here, ale that is. Food on the other hand was not that great for the price, nice view out over the thames.

Met a mate here for a quick pint(after an abortive attempt at the Aqua opposite). Good pint of Bombardier with Youngs and Youngs gold on tap too. Friendly staff and moderately busy for a Tuesday night — foodwise only sampled the crisps, but these were lovely.

This pub is located right on the river near Vauxhall tube, under the hideous apartments of St Georges Wharf. It’s got a decent amount of outdoor seating and it’s nice to sit there on a summer evening. Having said that i wouldn’t got out of my way to drink there — there are nicer riverside pubs with more atmosphere and character. The view isn’t great — just more apartments across the river, and the area is fully concreted — no nice beer garden here! The food has improved in recent months and the menu is quite extensive, even if portions seem a little on the small side. The choice is of the gastro-pub variety. They also do ‘grazing boards’ and pizzas, perfect for birthday get togethers or work social do’s.

This is a Young’s gastropub, and it does what it says on the tin. Surprise, surprise, it overlooks the river. Distant views of the Eye above Vauxhall Bridge, with Battersea power station upstream. Outside seating with parasols to make the best of the view. Food is competent modern European(seared scallops with pea risotto; free range Somerset pork belly with honey crackling; you know the sort of thing). Good beer goes without saying. Free wifi. UPDATE January 2012 Oh dear, they have installed a blaring TV in the food area, seemingly only for the entertainment of the bar staff. Now makes eating there a ghastly experience. Avoid.

A nice bar/pub in Vauxhall right next to the river. The nearest tube is Vauxhall(on the Victoria line) but it’s also within walking distance of Oval tube station. The bar is bright and airy with plenty of seating. We went in as a group of about 15 people on a Saturday evening and had no problem finding a table big enough for us all. They also do food, which looks better than your average pub food — the food and drinks are alos of average price for London. The music was good, not too loud. A nice place to sit and chat with a gorup of friends.
