The flood here is good, the staff no so much, the misunderstandings and chaotic delivery of the food was mystifying. It all turned out well in the end and they did doggie bag my overindulgent ordering. If you say we are waiting for a friend before we order, the next minute the waiting staff come to take your order. If you say I’m ordering off the big menu, not the £10 fixed price menu, you wouldn’t expect to be told that the drinks are extra. When the Time Out vouchers were collected as you sat down you wouldn’t expect them to say«I need a voucher before I can take your order.» It’s a lovely place, it was very busy, so you may want to book a table to avoid disappointment. It is noisy and tables do sit close together but you can hold a conversation, there is more seating down stairs. The price you pay and what you get is fine. Not my go to restaurant of the month but If you do go you’ll have nice food.

I visited with a Greek friend who said it’s one of their favourite food places in central London. As I’m aware that it’s a chain, I wasn’t convinced it could deliver food as authentic as a small, family-run Greek restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. Although it lacks the atmosphere of some Greek eateries in London, the food is faultless. We may have over ordered as the dishes just kept coming out. We had hummus, taramasalata, tzatziki, bread and crudités to start with a bottle of Greek red wine, which was surprisingly good. Actually, that may have been a pre-starter as we then had calamari and pork belly. For mains, I tried a chicken souvlaki, which was so soft and succulent and covered in warm, floury bread. Then we ordered some baklava for desserts, as we figured that since we’d eaten so much already a few extra calories wouldn’t make a difference. They were of the same high standard to the dishes that came out before them. I honestly couldn’t believe how tasty the food was as I didn’t expect that from a chain restaurant. I can’t give it five stars because of the lack of atmosphere, plain décor and lack of plate smashing. But I would recommend it for lunch or dinner if you’re in central London.

I came here as a Greek restaurant across the street happen to be full. It offers amazing value menu, 4 dishes for £10 so if you are after a bargain in the area, you might want to take up on the offer. The setting is quite nice but it is a typical chain restaurant — everything feels quite cookie cutter and nothing is done with passion. All foods are served on small dishes and come on tiered dish rack, like the one used for afternoon tea. I found this style of serving quite annoying as I cannot really see people sitting across from me. Food is mediocre at best but everything was edible — for me, this is a Greek food version of carluccio. Would only come here for convenience and price.

Very nice place. I haven’t been here in months and I found out that I really missed it. The food is amazing but that is of course if you like Greek meals. It’s not the traditional junk food that everyone is used to. The guys are trying to do a quality, authentic restaurant and in my opinion, they’ve succeeded.

I was not overwhelmed by this place everything was decent but the portions weren’t huge and the service was a little on the hurried side. That said, the food was good and the variety was pleasing.

What a great idea to have the calories for each item! I hope this catches on across the board. If you are on a diet for medical reasons or just for vanity its important to know this information.

Ugh. There’s nothing real about the Real Greek. There are loads of better, authentic Greek places you can go instead.

I took a friend to The Real Greek in Marylebone as I had heard good things about it. We weren’t disappointed. The service was really friendly, the food comes on little plates like tapas and they stack them on these really cool racks to share. All the usual staples that I enjoy — the hoummus, stuffed vine leaves, lamb chops, squid — were as good as I’ve had anywhere. The atmosphere was great, lots of people enjoying themselves but not overwhelming like it can be in some restaurants, and a proper cup of Greek coffee to top it off. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend it.

This location is in a fairly tony part of London, very much a young professional stylish set. Full of life. But the food was a bit«off.» It’s Greek, but nearly everything was skewed a little oddly. The dolmades were very sweet, in a weird way — too much so. Their version of spanokopita had some weird herb in it that overpowered it. Good Greek food is simply good. Here, it seems they tried to give everything a «twist» to be different, but the twists just didn’t work. I liked the atmosphere though, but there are just too many better places to eat to go back to this one. I wanted to like it. But just didn’t really. Just ok.

Sehr guter Grieche mit Fokus auf Vorspeisen. Man sollte pro Person ca. 3 Vorspeisen(warm und kalt gemischt) bestellen. Der gegrillte Oktopus ist sehr zu empfehlen.

went here the other day for a late lunch and really enjoyed everything we ate. my friend and i did the sharing menu and then added on a few extras — the halloumi was awesome, little filo pastries with spinach and leek were delish, the chicken kebab was flavourful and moist, and the lamb keffte was also great. basically they didn’t bring me anything i didn’t like and for 2 people to get stuffed and have a bottle of wine for about 20 quid is fine by me. would go back.

I went to the Real Greek yesterday for lunch and a few weeks ago for dinner. My friend and I had the lunch deal at £5.95 each which was excellent value. I had 3 meze dishes and my friend had the halloumi wrap. We noticed that both times we’ve been there the dishes appear in a random fashion: the first time we went there I was served first and almost finished my meal by the time my friend’s meal arrived. Not fun. Yesterday there was only a slight delay in 2 side dishes, we had to remind the waiter but we didn’t wait too long. The restaurant was fairly empty at lunchtime but it was buzzing in the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed and the décor modern and comfortable. We had a chat with our Spanish waiter and I did point out that we are missing a proper tapas bar in Marylebone!

Having eaten at the Real Greek in Hoxton I was looking forward to eating at this branch. This venue was smaller than the Hoxton venue and sadly it did not live up to my previous dining experience. The food was not as good and the venue was not as nice. Given the choice I would trek all the way to Hoxton rather than go to this branch.
