Fantastic little gem of a pub away from the Dalston Kingsland bustle. A little of a hipster vibe in the décor, with large old suitcases decorating the back lounge area. It has darkly painted walls and a warm buzzy conversational atmosphere punctuated with a nice selection of beer. It’s the kind of place which might convert your too-good-for-pubs girlfriend or the person who always wants a wine bar by slowly easing them in with a comfortable, almost-café-esque feel. It is cozy, with lots of seating and it serves Thai food. The Pad Thai is fab though not enough peanuts pieces for my liking. The Green Thai Curry was definitely too hot as it was the hottest I’ve ever had and I have a reasonably high spice tolerance. Good price on food(around 7 quid). Definitely the most solid pub within like a half mile of Dalston’s residential back neighborhood. Certainly my go-to local in the area.

Love this pub that reopened about a year ago, just off Dalston high street and the Balls Pond Road. Quite a rough place previously(apparently) it is now a lovely beer filled pub, serving Thai food. Owned by the same guys who have brought us the awesome Pineapple in Kentish Town. The young landlord is a good bloke and offers about half a dozen ales. In a couple of visits this selection(for example Redemption Big Chief, Brewdog 5am Saint and Purity UBU) has kept me from just staying for just one as I had intended. As have random conversations with other people enjoying the place. How easily a quick pint can lead to an evening pleasantly wasted.

This is now a really lovely pub! They have a really good selection of ales, the staff are friendly, it’s not crowded due to being off the main road AND on Sundays they seem to often give out free roast potatoes and sausages! Whoop!
