I agree with some of the comments below. The food is good, but ludicrously expensive, the staff were miserable and what is it about these tiny deli places that they feel the need to make as much noise as possible banging the coffee machine filter against the table top. It’s shocking and deafening, which is not what I want on a Sunday morning when I’m trying to read the newspaper and have a cup of coffee.

One of my favourite café and lunch venues (though closing times don’t make it so good for afternoon teas see below) Delicious original fresh food easy ambience whether outside or in. Not cheap but happy to pay for quality. Efficient and generally friendly service though sometimes some puzzling and grumpy moments.(and woe betide you if you turn up for tea half and hour or so before closing they don’t serve you which I find very irritating)

The coffee(now made with Monmouth beans) has got much better — fine quality, more antipodean in style. If I did more than just pick up a cup of it at the weekends, if I actually sat down and had some amazing-looking brunch along with one of the many amazing-looking baked items on offer, then this might very well be worthy of 5 stars. Watch this space.

The Pantry is a rather swish café specialising in home-made brunch, coffee and cake. When I swung by on a Sunday morning, its tables and chairs were populated by a mixture of young professionals in summer attire, couples and families enjoying Sunday brunches. As I strolled inside, the produce that immediately caught my eye was the cake on offer: moist, alluring but also at £3.50 eat-in, startlingly expensive. If Marie Antoinette had said ‘Let them eat cake” and directed all to the Pantry, I’m confident that the French Revolution would have happened a lot swifter and with a still greater sense of outrage. But I wasn’t there to try the cake. Instead, I had stopped by to test Linzi M. and Larissa G.‘s claims about the brownies on offer being some of the best they’d ever tasted. A likely story I thought, after having tested many such a bold claim in a wholly selfless quest to further humankind’s knowledge about the quality of brownies out there. Flour Power, Guu, many a baker’s stall: all had proved somewhat disappointing, leading me to conclude that decent brownies are a very rare and extremely elusive species. Besides, how could the brownies here really be better than that superb one I had in… Hmmm, this is actually pretty… Wow. Am I mistaken? No, this really is, yeah, pretty darn good. Don’t know if I’m willing to accept that it’s the best I’ve ever tasted, and how scientific can we be anyway, but top 3 definitely. So yeah, Larissa G.; Linzi M.: You certainly have a point. The brownies at the Pantry are really very good: moist, fresh and oh-so-chocolatety. Right up there with the very best. Get your brownies here.

Aaah so this is a brownie. Now I know what I’ve been missing all these years … Sadly it also means I can never eat one of those dried up impostors again. Wandering along Wandsworth Town I came upon the delightful Pantry. A charming little boho café, it has a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries on display. I thought the coffee was good, but I don’t have quite the sophisticated palate as Larissa D. The Pantry has such a laid back, brunching in the sunshine vibe. And the aforementioned Brazilian brownie… sex on a plate!

This is literally my most favourite place in London town– I have to walk over Wandsworth bridge to get there, which blows all the cobwebs away before having a simply yummy brunch– my favourite is the poached eggs with smoked salmon and fresh watercress. The service is really great, Dave and his team are always smiley and remember you(which makes a difference!) and I give 5 stars to their interior decoration skills. Dont even get me started on the chocolate and banana cake…

Oh Pantry, Pantry, Pantry! What are we going to do with you? You look so cute yet you just miss the boat by a bit. Great coffee but no an Americano is not the same as a filter. And why is this coffee taking so long? Can you not tell I really REALLY need this caffeine? Because I do, I can assure you of that, don’t push me too far this early in the morning. Don’t. Push. me. Seriously though, cute place, great looking cakes, friendly service if a little slow, hot hot boys sat enjoying breakfast as I take in the view while waiting for my order. A winner, but not perfect.

The Pantry is a charismatic restaurant steps away from the Wandsworth Town Rail Station. The restaurant is a blend of rustic warmth and country freshness. Clean wall boards adorn the walls, oak tables and cabinets line the interior and wreaths in the shape of hearts hang on the walls. The food is an infusion of fresh farm style. You can have a marvelous sausage sandwich with onion marmalade or you can choose to go with the granola and yogurt. Should you fancy a bit mo
