Great pub. Been here a few times now and it has a good atmosphere and friendly regulars. Can’t remember the prices which is a good indicator.

Dropped in for a quick drink — it seemed fairly standard, which was a bit disappointing as the website looked more promising. Still, there are a couple of interesting elements to the décor and it looked like the best option on the area.

The Oak & Pastor is one of those little gems I’m so, so happy to have found! It’s not normally crowded(unless they’re showing a match — in which case good luck!) so you can pretty much always get a seat. The bar staff are friendly without being intruding, so it’s a great place to hang out and meet for a chat and a quiet pint. Also worthy of note is the food becauseYUM. On Mondays they do pizza(including a pulled pork pizza *drools*) and Fridays they do burgers. I strongly recommend visiting either night for dinner, and while I’ve not yet dined here during the rest of the week I’m sure it’s going to be good. There’s also a nice patio, so fingers crossed we get some sun this summer so I can enjoy… :)

Me and my partner had two vegetarian dishes today at the Oak & Pastor. The wild mushroom lassagne had no mushrooms at all, they had added lots of thick layers of pasta and the filling consisted of thin layers of spinach. The £8.50 vegetarian burger wasn’t homemade instead it was a cheap frozen burger. The vibe of this place is great and the service was very good, they should seriously consider changing their chefs to make the food reach the high standards for the service.

Trying to find a patio on a sunny Sunday afternoon in London is no easy feat. We stumbled upon The Oak & Pastor by chance and found ourselves maneuvering through a football watching crowd inside. Luckily, there was plenty of space in their back garden, although sadly, the sun didn’t shine directly on us. Nonetheless, the staff were friendly and the garden quaint. Most of us opted for the burger, which had a lovely homemade sauce on it we all loved. The nut roast towered impressively and had the thumbs up from our veggie friends. The chips were thick and generous. Overall, this pub is a nice local getaway. I’d be keen to come back on a non-game day when it is less crowded with people concerned with me blocking their view by simply walking through to the exit … and fingers crossed the sun hits the garden more this Summer!

I’m a fan of this place, but I can’t put my finger on why. My partner and I have fallen into the habit of going when we want someplace nicer than most of the other locals restaurants/pubs, but don’t want to break the bank. I never quite know what to expect when I go there. Sometimes we’re the only ones there, other times there are a lot of tables filled. The garden out back seems fairly popular, though I’ve never sat there. I do sometimes get a drink and sit on the patio facing Junction Road, which is nice. Definitely a family friendly place, as the last two times I went there were a few young kids running around. The seats are about as comfortable as you’ll get with chairs. The staff, for the most part, is friendly(I tried to make light conversation with one of the bartenders this week while she made my drink, but maybe she was in a bad mood — I was one of two people trying to order drinks and she was one of two bartenders, so I didn’t think she was too busy, but she very quickly shut me down). Every meal we’ve had here has been pretty good. It’s definitely better than a trip to a Wetherspoons or anything like that. They recently redid the menu, and the roast chicken caesar salad is surprisingly good — I’m not going to lie, it’s one of the better caesar salads I’ve had in London, because the chicken has real flavour instead of that bland chickeny taste you get sometimes. The new fish and chips is only alright. I prefer a light crispy batter, this is a bit flat and… whatever the opposite of crispy is. We both got a side of triple cooked chips last time, and I wasn’t really a fan. When I hear triple cooked chips, I think of dark crispy chips. These were neither, and cut just too thick enough that they were too potato-ey. Haven’t tried the skinny chips, but I’d probably have those next time(even though I generally prefer thick cut chips). The drink selection seems alright. I’m not a big beer drinker, but he is, and he always seems quite happy there. I got a lime and soda and was surprised I was charged just under a pound for it — most places give it for free or for 15−20p. Eh, it’s only a few pence difference, I’m not going to complain. TL;DR: Nice place. Consistently good food that’s higher quality than the average pub. I keep finding myself back there so they’ve got to be doing something right.

This place is mostly about the outside the beer garden at the back is lovely(although I’ve never seen it catch much sun, being at the rear) and they have tables out front too. A bit overpriced for what it is, but the staff are friendly and the chips are pretty good!
