Rude waiters!!! Asked a few questions about the dishes and our waiter got annoyed and walked off. Didn’t come back until 30 minutes later, when he finally brought our drinks. We had to wave down another waiter and ask him what happened to ours. Food was very average, to below average. Go here if you love rude waiters, waiting for your food and drinks forever, and ok to not so good food.

Awful service. Waiters with big time attitudes. Racists towards their own kind. Food was alright — nothing out of the ordinary. We waited forever for okay food. Beware Indian/Pakistani folks — they don’t treat you well here. They seem angry you’d ask for anything at all.

Naj our waiter was so awesome. We had tikka masala and garlic naan which was amazing. The environment is mellow but cool and we really enjoyed our dining experience. I would recommend it to anyone in the area. We are walked over after watching billy Elliot which was a nice shirt walk.

The food was definitely good, about on par with most of the places I’ve been to in NY. Décor was very nice. Service was not very good. They seemed confused about pretty much everything and often forgot to bring us small things we asked for, like water. Overall, you’ll probably have a good meal here but you can probably find better.

My boyfriend and I went here and received one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. The waiters when asked for anything seemed angry that you needed anything, the restaurant had just opened! The food was decent except for the Naan. We ordered two of them and both came not completely cooked all the way. I will never go here again and would not recommend.

I stayed with a friend in the area and we wanted some food after a long day of traveling and shopping. Randomly ended up here. The place was crowded, and we felt like we sat together with the two English men on the next table. Not a big deal. Service was good, the food was good but I’ve had better. Everything was fine, but nothing more. I would come here again.

My family and I came here for dinner last night. Based on my experience, I can’t say is worn the rating it had on Unilocal.First, the service was terrible. The restaurant was empty though the nearby restaurants were busy(a warning sign we should have heeded) though it rather late at night so we decided to give it a try. And although we were told it was an hour and a half from closing, it looked like they had already checked out. We needed to ask for water three times, before it arrived, even though there were four members of the wait staff idling around and we were the only customers. Even then, we had to pour our own water and they brought ice separately in a bowl. Which was… odd. I wish I could say the food made it work out, but it was decidedly mediocre. The coconut rice was overcooked, yet still managed to have hard, uncooked grains. I don’t know how they managed that. The tandoori chicken was dry, and the rest of the food was decidedly eh. At least it wasn’t actively bad. Which is why I’m not giving them 1 star. Just not nearly work their rating online, and far worse than the other Indian food we had on our visit to England.

We happened upon this restaurant when walking back to our hotel after a long day of touring. Wow, what a great find. The food was delicious! I have to be gluten and dairy free, so eating out is not that easy. The waiter was great. He helped me pick out something that was safe to eat — chicken kabob, and I just loved it. My son had a lamb dish and also loved his entrée. I would highly recommend it.

Fairly bog standard Indian restaurant located near Victorian station. The food was so-so, for instance, the naan was not fluffy and a bit wet, the chicken tikka was very dry and the spinach + cheese dish(i forget the name) was pure butter. The vindaloo was pretty good though. Service was bad. Waiters were slow and rude. They also charged us for an entire bottle of wine when we had one glass. No apologies for the«mix-up» Would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Excellent food. Found this place while starving and desperately needing food after a long day of travel. The staff was super nice and helpful. We ordered some great food and accepted some recommendations, all of which were superb. Glad we found this place and would recommend to anyone.

My fiancé and I stopped in The New Jomuna partly because we were staying in an AirBnb across the street and mostly because of these amazing Unilocal reviews! We knew that we needed to try some Indian food whilst on our trip in the UK. I took from my fellow Unilocal reviewer’s advice and ordered the coconut rice. HOLYBALLS it is amazing! It was like candied, delicious, so sweet and amazing rice sent from the gods. We made sure to order plenty of naan too. We both got vegetarian entrees that were phenomenal as well. The service was great, everyone was very kind and didn’t have a problem explaining some of the entrees to us. We had a sassy French family next to us that yelled a bit at the poor waiter. I still dream of the coconut rice now that we’re back in the states, I’ll have to find it somewhere!

I came through for take-away a couple of nights back, and have mixed emotions. I had butter chicken and nan, both of which were good. The sauce on the chicken was a touch sweet, and not especially creamy, which was a little bit surprising, but overall the flavor was wonderful. The bread was puffy and warm, and overall it was a great meal. That said, my chicken dish had about four strips of chicken in a huge dish of sauce. I came away slightly hungry and wishing I had ordered more, which should never really be the case when I’m having Indian food. The location is pretty standard for Wilton Road, just a thin strip of restaurant with the kitchen in the basement. It’s not bad at all, but I feel like two or three minutes’ walk in either direction will take me past several places that are as good.

OK I agree with the previous reviewer — well the last bit! … «Not Bad» Absolutely packed at 8pm on a Wednesday, but they slotted me in a table near the bar. A bit loud. Vindaloo was hot to very. Tarka Dhall had a great taste but was the consistency of soup. Rice, bread, couple of pints — £22. So 4*. Probably a victim of its own success, there are another couple of Indians in the same street that have to employ donkeys to stand outside handing out leaflets to tempt people in . Service was actually OK considering the number of punters, but the bill took a long time. There were lots of folk bizarrely standing around waiting for staff to bring them their coats so they could leave. Get a better system! Maybe I’m getting picky but there’re A LOT of Indians in this area of a similarly good quality. This one doesn’t disappoint; neither does it sparkle.

Really, amazingly freakin’ good. Not expensive, either. I’ve been to London twice, and went here both times. Yes, there are hundreds(thousands?) of other Indian places to try, but I went back to this one a second time. My first trip included highlights of my friends trying the Phaal and crying, needing to get a bowl of ice to recover. Note that these guys love spicy food, and said it was the spiciest thing they’d ever eaten. My second trip was slightly more tame — chicken balti, prawn paneer, some other random chicken dish, lots of breads and sides, and a dish that said it would«blow your head off.» It didn’t, but it was perfectly spicy to still be tasteful. 71 pounds for 3, for a mighty feast. Not bad.

They have coconut rice. Actually, not only do they have coconut rice but the coconut is flaked by angels. To eat this coconut rice with the prawn bhuna is heaven on earth. That is why this curry restaurant is my favourite. Unfortunately it is just a bit more costly than the mediocre-but-still-tasty curries you can get at the Sainsburys across the street so we don’t go there often. That’s really my only complaint.
