A YOUNGS pub so the quality of the beers is top notch! Plus you can get those unique beers like Honey, Banana Bread and Chocolate flavours.
They have just completely refurbished their Beer Garden, and it is now a fantastic place to sit out in the sun. And when it rains the awnings and heaters still make it a really pleasant place to sit, whether you are a smoker or not.
Management are really friendly and has really turned itself around since Easter.
They also allow you to keep a tab and pay by card, which you don’t see very often in these smaller local pubs.
They have big BBQ sessions every so often on Saturday, and at £2 a plate, I CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND CHEAPER!!!

There’s nothing special about the Hope. Just your typical local watering hole. The furnishings are a bit dated and a tad uncomfortable. The pub itself is quite small and filled with the average working Joes and Janes of the area. There’s nothing special about the Hope, save the management. On one seemingly ordinary Tuesday night, they locked the doors and closed the curtains and let us sit in! The manager passed out ashtrays (my smoker friends were thrilled, me… not as much) and told us we could stay as long as we like. My friends have been back since hoping for another chance to stay in the pub late. It hasn’t happened yet, but finding a place in West Norwood that’s willing to go the extra mile when they’re in the mood has made us fans.
