The Hi Fi Surplus Store

I had a horrible experience at this shop. Having asked one of their staff, Hardit, for an earphone with a mic for my Blackberry, I bought a Sony MDR-​EX38IP on his recommendation. I paid, opened it and discovered that it didn’t work with my Blackberry. Not only did he refuse to refund or exchange the item, incredulously, he told me that I had originally asked for an iPhone earphone. I go home, wanting to sell it on ebay, and discover the item sells for £15 online instead of £30 which I paid for. Lesson? 1. Electronic shops along Tottenham Court Road are really dodgy, with thugs manning the shops. 2. Find out what you want at the shop itself, and check how much it costs online! Chances are, you are much better off buying stuff online. You have been warned! Ken

Hi Fi Surplus Store sells electronic goods of all types. It reminds me of electronic stores on the streets of New York City. It’s a medium sized store packed of electronic gadgets and one really needs to ask the staff to find out if they carry the product or not.
I had to buy a socket converter so I could plug my recharger into the socket. I asked for a North American socket converter, and the staff at the counter immediately showed me the huge stack of it. He even let me test it out and it worked too. So, I decided to buy it and I gave him the money, but the staff at the counter forgot to put the socket converter in the bag, and foolishly, I left the store without the product.
Oh, if you’re wondering, I did come back to the store, and I got the socket converter back!

This busy audio visual shop offers everything you could want from any big brand name in the TV, hifi, camera and computer industries. The Hi Fi Surplus Store also has great prices on DJ equipment, though some of it is not as refined as what you’d find at West End DJ nearby. There’s always a friendly salesman on hand to answer any questions, and the better you are at bargaining yourself a good deal the easier it’ll be on your pocket.
A cool product I saw in particular was a huge 58″ rear projection screen for a thousand quid: thoughts of Call of Duty 5 on Xbox Live and a hi-​def DVD of «The Day The Earth Stood Still». Another interesting fact to note is that it is very difficult for most men to walk past this window without the glint of technology catching their eyes. Beware: you’ll still find a lot of the items available in this store cheaper if you buy it online.
