Zone 3, who knew?! Well, the Unilocalers knew. And they pointed me here. After my husband successfully got me to my first West Ham game(beat Newcastle, C’mon Ya Irons!), I was promised some tasty food on the walk back to the Forest Gate Station. The Grill Corner delivered. We popped in around 6pm and were seated immediately in the front window. We were quickly situated with waters, sodas, papdoms(just 50p each!), hummus, Mixed Grill 1, Paneer with peas curry, and a really nice little pistachio dessert. They even let me take home the little ceramic dish. What a bonus! I was surprised at how fast the food arrived and also how good it was. But the real surprise was the bill. £31 for dinner. Never since I’ve been in London(save the odd meal at Pret) have I paid less than 40 quid for dinner. Seriously, great value. It was full to the brim when we left 45 minutes later, it’s a very popular spot for groups and families — the atmosphere is very festive and fun, and the food is great and the service is friendly and competent. Good stuff! Zone 3! Well done.

Food was average, nothing special we ordered lamb chops and chicken wings for starter. The lamb chops was really nice and tender. For main I had half chicken with wedges, it was ok, but could be better. My wife had the classic burger, which was very nice. I felt service was too quick and rushing, we couldn’t even look at the menu, the waitress kept standing by our table waiting to take the order, after we ordered the food, it came after 5 mins. Waiters and waitress need to be more welcoming as it felt if they were doing me a favour by taking my order or getting the food, no smile or appreciation. Overall ok place, not too expensive. But will not go back.

This place is always busy so we decided to give it a go. Wish we’d tried it sooner! Good variety of Indian food plus steaks and kebabs(not the awful kind of kebabs you can only eat after a night out!). Four of us went and we left very very full and happy! We had a starter and naan each, then chana masala and mixed grill 2 to share between us. The portions were much bigger than expected and we ended up bringing half the mixed grill home for lunch tomorrow! The meat was tender and tasty, a bit more salad with it may have been nice but overall it was excellent. The mango lassi was delicious too. Quick service(maybe a little too quick at times) and no real atmosphere but will definitely be going again for the really good value food.

I went there with my buddy who is more of a vegetarian. The menu wasn’t very impressive. It didn’t have much. We expected more variety, at least in terms of bread. They served only Naan. My friend got paneer tikka for himself. I got myself some sheek kebab. The order was served really quick. In fact all our items, including what we had ordered as a dessert came at once. Took less than 10 minutes. But what we asked for most importantly was some tap water. That was served after some 20 minutes. The best dish served was Chicken Karahi. Naan was really good, we took the butter naan. And it was soft and stayed really soft till we finished it all. The worst dish was Paneer tikka. The paneer just didn’t taste right. My buddy was upset. I had mango lassi and that was sweet and thick. I liked it for the pricing and the taste and speed. It was all indo, pak, bengali crowd around. So I felt like I was somewhere in the east. felt good. So I would give it 3 on 5.

Very good neighbourhood Indian restaurant on Green Street in Upton Park. The food is delicious and plentiful, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable indeed. These facts have clearly already been picked up by the local community, as the restaurant seems to be full to capacity at all times.
