The Fox is such a great pub! I was recently in London for my future uncle-in-law’s wedding, and we came to The Fox the next for our family lunch. My future uncle-in-law rented part of the decking out back so we could have a BBQ under tents. It was a great atmosphere all over. It is great for children, and dog friendly(outside, of course). I’m not sure if the BBQ food was from The Fox itself, but the sausage that was cooked on sight was phenomenal. The staff at the pub bar was very friendly, and if the bar wasn’t too busy, they were very attentive.

Very nice local pub. Little noisy these days but still have charm. The food is good but the service is little slow. You must try the brunch on weekends.

Used to be a locals pub now is a victim of it’s own greed. As a local I dread the coming Summer months when I will have screaming kids kicking footballs into my car and garden at all hours whilst their parents get sozzled in the pub. Green Lane was a quiet, dead end backwater when we moved here and that was it’s appeal. Now, due to the large volume of people using the pub we are unable to park near our house as the pub ’ car park ’ is a joke and takes 6 cars at most none when the latest money making venture of a market fills it. Since the smoking ban we have to contend wight constant noise from smokers shouting on the pavement just 10 yards from our houses. The management are only concerned in making a fast buck and don’t seem to care about the neighbours well being. The pub itself is full of young kids right upto 10 at night unless you are a drinking parent this is not what to expect in a pub. Service is slow and haphazard no one minds a wait if you are served in turn but here it’s the ones that shout the loudest that get served first. A real shame. I would advise that if you are after a quiet drink in civilised surroundings away from screaming kids and barking dogs you try the Inn on the Green formerly the Dolphin at the top end of Green Lane. I must state that I have no connection with this pub other than I like a pub to be a pub and not a kindergarten with dogs.

If you’re looking for a pub to spend a nice Sunday afternoon in a beer garden then you can’t get much better. Nice friendly atmosphere and the Sunday lunch is very nice.

This is a lovely country pub with as much space outside as inside. the only clue that you are anywhere near a big city is the occasional roar of a plane to or from Heathrow passing overhead. 4 ales while I was on. Landlord, sharp’s doom bar, pride and the less predictable(but probably the best) Six Hop, also from sharps(but yet I have never seen it in Cornwall!).

A bit clicky. Full of kids on Sundays with their PC parents eating the house roast dinner, that does get on my nerves. The beer is good, real ales etc and they occasionally have bands. You get a few dogs with their owners which is OK. Tends to get busier in the summer. The setting is nice but the pub is a little expensive and some of the local residents moan about the noise. Why are they living there? The pub has been there for centuries. All in all it’s ok if you don’t mind tons of kids running around at weekends and you’ve got a bit of dosh.

One of the very few pubs around to still sell a traditional Sunday lunch. Well, perhaps not too tradtitional as it is actually very tasty, not soggy, and a veggie alternative is also available. The nut roast is perfect as is the chicken. Not sure why they serve mash as well as roatesd potatoes and mash, but there’s not danger of going hungry here. This is the perfect destination if, like us yesterday, you are cycling along the Grand Union Canal. It’s a bit of a shame that the Fox isn’t actually by the waterside, but the garden offers a good compromise. They have built a couple of sheds in the yard facing the pub as well. Feels a bit like sitting in a garden centre show room, but serves its purpose well and allows you to admire the beautiful old inn while you’re waiting for your food. It’s easy to imagine how this place would have teamed with coaches and boaters in years past. Now it is mainly frequented by locals. I hope the guy who lost his children along the canal yesterday was reunited with his family!

great community-focused neighbourhood pub. highlights are the weekly quiz nights(thurs) and real ale. the quiz is a scratch above your usual pub trivia night affairs with varied rounds and questions. get there early though, cos they get a full house. usually 3 – 4 ales on the go, and all kept in top condition. landlord and pride and a guest beer or two can be relied on. food is pretty good, not worth the visit in itself(but i hear sunday roasts are exceptional) but if you’re hungry you could do worse. and the canal is just behind the pub for a scenic pre/post drink stroll.

Quality, with a capital K is the word to best describe the Fox. Sunday Lunch(get there early) is stunning and the annual beer festival is a must. Nice fenced off garden area and the beauty of having no chance of getting a parking space is that you have to walk there(and can therefore drink more!) Service can be a tad slow, but when the food and beer is this good, let’s not be too picky!

The Fox is a fantastic local free house pub, which also provides a range of excellent food especially Sunday lunch. The pub itself is close to the Grand Union Canal(although you can’t see the canal from the premises), and has a large beer garden with outside enclosed smoking areas. It hosts an annual beer festival which is very popular. It also sometimes has an open fire in the Winter. The food is reasonable and tasty, with daily specials although it’s not a restaurant so expect a little time to prepare. The evening menu is currently available Weds to Sat, with lunches throughout the week. Well worth a diversion even from a long way away, with unrestricted on-street parking(can be busy in the evenings) — don’t forget to walk to the canal and cross the bridge over the river Brent to the lock which is close by.
