I LOVELOVELOVE The Fox, my fave pub in all of ever. It’d be a 5 stars if the place wasn’t so totally rammed almost every evening and weekend, but otherwise it’d be a solid 5 stars. Excellent selection of ales and if you’re ever peckish, be sure to have some chips with cheese and gravy(OMG yummy) and try your tastebuds on the pork bites(with amazingly sweet and salty pork cracking on top, too good to describe in words, just get them and you won’t be sorry!!!)

Great selection of beers, and really good prices. Only had chips to eat — triple cooked, tasted amazing, well presented. Friendly staff, pub dog who chills around. Nice crowd, all in all a winner!

Precio habitual y personal tranquilo.

A long list of craft beers, friendly staff and a roof terrace. Need I say more? This is a great pub with a brilliant atmosphere. It was busy on the Saturday night we were there but we did manage to get a spot on a bench on the roof terrace. This closes at 10pm so the bar downstairs then gets even busier. My boyfriend loves trying different craft beers and is really impressed with the selection at The Fox. There’s a great menu and the staff are some of the friendliest bar staff I’ve come across in London. The roof terrace is really pretty with flowers and bunting around the edges. There were strings of fairy lights but these sadly weren’t on. It’s the only thing that was missing really. I’d like to go back to try their food sometime and to sit on their roof terrace with a drink again when it’s slightly warmer.

I’m a big fan of The Fox and if I hadn’t made the mistake of ordering some chips with my beer then it would probably have made the full 5 stars. Firstly the location. This is about a 5 minute walk to my house so ideal for a quick beer or the long walk(stumble) home after a few beers too many. The selection of ales is fantastic and regularly rotates although make sure you check out the alcohol percentage before ordering a pint. Some of them pack quite a punch! Cider drinkers appear to be fairly well catered for with a good selection. The Fox also claims to have the UK’s first craft beer vending machine. I’ve never used\seen anybody use it but it’s definitely there! A few people had told me about how good the food is here, in particular the chips and the Sunday roast. I went for chips, cheese and gravy and that was a bad choice. The triple cooked chips were incredibly dry and the gravy was lumpy and tasted slightly congealed. At £4.50 I should have gone to the fish & chip shop along the road! I’ll be back in The Fox but I’ll just make sure that I’ve eaten first!

Great selection of beers and ciders. It gets very busy so book a table if your after food — which is also great. Only downside is some of the hipster staff who seem to lack basic social skills and manners.

Great pub to go to on a Sunday for a Roast and a few Pints! Casual atmosphere and good beer selection. Camden Hells on tap! Must have are the Pork bites, and the Chips with cheese and Gravy.

The Fox is consistently rammed every night of the week, and deservedly so — they have a fantastic craft beer selection that includes Kernel, Siren, Beavertown and more, a beer vending machine and a big open main room. In my opinion, they lose a star for rather mediocre food, but petting the pub dog makes up for this.

Our local pub — good selection of beers both on tap and with the new carft beer vending machine. I have never eaten but friends and family rave about it. Great place for a catch up with friends or low key drinks. Its always packed which speaks volumes if you can contend with the wait at the bar its worth a visit. I believe there is a roof garden too — must visit this summer!

First and foremost — didn’t try the food, sorry! As far as décor, atmosphere and selection of ale goes, I love The Fox. It all feels traditional and genuine — none of that faking an old look thing(although I notice it proudly announces«This is how renovations should be done», so maybe it’s faking the old look very well?). The roof terrace is well sized and away from the hub-bub of the street(save the occasional quiet overground train to remind you this is still London). There’s also a radio stereo too, where people appear to take great delight in annoying everyone else with their music taste — it’s like the sixth form common room experience! Downstairs is nice and quiet, although it is quite stuffy in the heat. All the ale we drank was tasty(but can’t comment on exactly what we had — my friend’s round). I would go back in a heartbeat.

An amazing pub. Its extremely cosy place that I hope to be back to soon for the food, which looked tasty on the menu and mouthwatering in person! As usual beer was my priority and they really didn’t disappoint me! Siren Oatmeal IPA and Kent Firestarter were delicious; Magic Rock Rapture just edged them out as the best of three very good choices! There is a selection of board games for your amusement

Execllent cosy pub with a massive range of craft beers Brooklyn on TAP. I was here for a friend’s leaving drinks and had their Sunday Roast. It was cooked to perfection. The chicken was moist, with a crispy outer skin. The red cabbage with a subtle black vinegar was tasty, roast potatoes crisped to perfection. It was all amazing. The dessert, an apple pie, was massive and rounded off a perfect meal. My only picky point is that the serving of custard with the dessert was larger. But thanks for looking out for my health«The Fox!» The ale range was extremely wide, and the staff provided good banter. Quite rightly, stating they didn’t do ginger ale to some friends«because it usually tastes a bit ****». That made me laugh. :D. But they are open to drink requests so if you don’t see something you like at the time, ask for it and they might get it in at a future visit if it’s popular. I could honestly stay here comfortably for a whole afternoon. There is plenty of space, some nice sofas, and you could tell some people here were set up for the long haul with their laptops and piles of books. This is helped by the Wifi I think is available to the public, but that I didn’t use personally. Will be back.

The Fox is a stirring testament to the impact that the resurgence of interest in craft beer has made on pubs. A couple of years ago the Fox was just another pub, suffering from poor service and bad beer. Now it’s been recast, using a range of over 100 craft beers to pull in the punters. Successfully too. I came here for a Classy Beer and Board Games UYE and was very happy with the beer selection. It has perhaps 20 beers on tap and another 80 or so types in bottles, from a range of decent US and European breweries, including many UK ones. Prices are reasonable(maybe a reflection that there’s nothing toooo exotic here) and the staff are friendly too, with useful tips. The food is less strong. I opted for a steak sandwich which was slightly stodgy but okay. The interior however is quite cosy, with untreated wooden tables lit by candle light and surrounded by plenty of chairs. Perfect, in other words, for spreading out board games and doing battle. Definitely worth seeking out if a you live locally and love craft beer.

I reviewed this years ago and it was pretty awful. I swore I’d never go back. The thing is the management changed and I started hearing good things about it. A problem with Unilocal reviews is that if a business changes its name it gets to start its rating from scratch, however, change of management, décor, ethos, kitchen, layout etc. you name it, if the whole place is bulldozed TOTHEGROUND and then rebuilt, unless it changes its name it will forever have the reviews of the past haunting it. So, feeling it would be unfair to leave such a damning review up for the world to see, I deleted it. Yes, I know ‘Update!’ I hear you cry, the problem was, I’d heard it was better but I hadn’t been and I didn’t know when I would be back. Well, that ‘when’ was last night. A packed Haggerston meant we needed somewhere quieter for a Sunday night pint, and the Fox was perfect. Saying that, the place is not perfect but it’s a hell of a lot better than it was. The menu is smaller compared to what was there a few years back, but before it was ridiculously long(although I can’t comment on the food as we had none). They now have a range of craft beers and imported ales on tap, this is now a beer drinkers pub. Don’t expect Stella or Fosters, do expect Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada and more I just can’t remember. Yes, and what’s that? Almost £5 a pint for most things? Yep, thought so. The space is big and could do with some sort of features to break up the space other than scores of tables but they do have a little off shoot which seemed more popular than the canteen style arrangement in the main area. So if you’re looking for beer and can’t be bothered to walk to the Dove on Broadway market then you should give it a go.

Good beer selection — come here if you want to try some local hackney beers on cask or tap. Have a small amount of «world» beers, but half of the selection is brit based. Nice! This place can be low key or crazy depending on the night. It’s one of the better pubs in Hackney that I have been to so far.

Forget earlier Reviews. All has changed a few months ago. New management, re-decorated, new chefs, new everything. Great selection of beers, a lot of them you most likely haven’t even heard of, really nice food, possibly one of the best burgers I had in the east, friendly staff,… It is my local so I couldn’t be happier about it’s metamorphosis.

This is a really good place if you want to have a quiet drink with friends/someone special/family, but not if you’re looking for party central. The food is quite nice, typically ‘gastro-pub’ in style and price, but nothing special. There is quite an extensive cocktail list that often has good deals like 2−4−1 etc on weeknights. I do really love the décor of this pub: large chesterfields and other such relaxing sofas and chairs, great lighting and different sections. This also has a lovely little roof terrace right at the top, although the stairs area bit precarious!

After a boozy dinner last night I went to the Fox with some friends. The Fox is on a fairly nondescript stretch of Kingsland Road. The pub itself is similarly unremarkable, one large room on the ground floor, though the wooden bar itself is quite attractive. I was there late Friday evening and it wasn’t particularly crowded which gave it a relaxed atmosphere, though the staff were terse. The reason for going was the 2−4−1 cocktails(£7.50) which are available all night, though the cocktails have to be same. I ordered with a friend and had a banana daiquiri, mojito and Singapore sling. All were of a decent standard. The daiquiri was particularly nice. It’s an okay place and the cocktails are good, so worth stopping in at, though not worth seeking out, particularly given how much is in the area.

I live a few minutes from the Fox and wish I could say it was good. However the FOODISUTTERLYDISGUSTING. Its straight out of Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares. Everythings from the freezer and is priced £10+. Its a shame as the decour and service are nice. Avoid the food at all costs
