The Face, and it’s somewhat biz in cahoots, Sherrys London, is THE quintessential 60s clothing shop in historic Carnaby Street area. I’ve purchased so many things from this mod mecca meets style legacy that I’ve lost count. Boater jackets, shoes, slim-fitting trousers and shirts(Ben Sherman, Fred Perry, Penguin, etc.), socks, hats, etc. If Northern Soul and the whole mod thing is your thing, there’s no other place on the planet like this short of hiring a personal bespoke tailor.

Carnaby used to be the place mods went to get smart gear. Now, the Merc is gone, the shops have turned into typical trendy crap, and the soul is disappearing quicker than a suped up SX200 with a Tafspeed kit. How happy I was to stumble on the Face, sister store to the classic Sherry’s. Boating blazers, Harringtons, twin-tipped pools at reasonable prices, patches and badges — it’s like a mini Merc. Friendly staff(I forgot an item and they held it for me after trying to catch me), sharp clothes and a reminder of what Carnaby used to be. Who could ask for more?

Sort of ok mod shop with a mix of tat and cool stuff. Avoid the ts hirts though-poor quality and the pirated videos and CDs are not endorsed by the bands.
