When I go to pubs/bars I like to drink the brews that you can’t normally find in the supermarket. Draft House in general has a rotating selections of lagers and ales from UK to international breweries. The Hammersmith branch is great at this as they have a huge board which lists the prices as well as the strength. In addition they allow you to purchase in 1⁄3rd or 2⁄3rd pint glasses and are priced accordingly, which is great for you beer connoisseurs. The food here ranges from burgers, steaks, chips to sunday roasts which is great to have with your beer. The walls have posters from the nearby Hammersmith Palais which was a music venue which was demolished in 2013. In short: Good staff, good beers, good times.

Stumbled upon The Draft House as my husband and I were walking to Hammersmith station from Kerbisher & Malt. The space was lively with people buzzing from the bar to their tables. We stuck our heads in and saw the giant lit board on the wall denoting their current on-tap beer selection. My husband said, «Well, they serve beer other than shit, so let’s give it a go.» By shit, I’m referring to the standard pub beer selection that accompanies 97% of pubs in this country — Carlsberg, Strongbow, Fosters, Budweiser, Kronenbourg 1664. You get the idea. We ordered at the bar(friendly and fast service) and snagged the last available table in the bar area. Note: Tables which are reserved will have a vinyl record on their stating the reservation time and name. The beer selection at The Draft House is vast. It sort of reminded me of BrewDog but minus the whole brewery thing. I only saw one beer, a lager, which was made by The Draft House. The rest were beers from Belgium, London(e.g. Camden), and other places which fail to come to memory at the moment. They also sell booze but I believe they are heavy on gin(perhaps only sell gin?) because I saw a sign advertising that they do gin mixology classes. I also did not see any booze behind the bar(but I did see a bartender making a drink). The Draft House would be great for large groups of people who want to have a drink or two before or after a show at one of the many theatres around Hammersmith station. It’s located close enough to Hammersmith to not be «too far out of the way» but far enough away to possibly deter people. Prices, I felt, were completely reasonable. Finally, they do serve food, however, I believe they only serve pies. They have a make-your-own pie concept where you can pick two ingredients and they’ll make it(examples are pizza, chocolate, cherries) and they have set menu pies. They have a pie+pint combo which is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays(I think) for £8.90(again, I think). Whatever days and whatever price seemed like a fantastic deal to me when I was reading about it.
