Friendly atmosphere but could be cosier. Drinks are obviously priced really well. It’s a trek from my house so I won’t be visiting again but overall a good spoons.

Somewhat posh wetherspoons in a posh location! Really liked it! And what’s not to like about a round of two beers for £4!!! Great!

As JDW houses go, this one ain’t half bad. Friendly staff and quite cosy. Had Sunday lunch there which was pretty standard ‘spoons fare. My pint was in good condition which is always a plus. Good mixture of young and old among the clientele. No complaints here.

New ‘Spoons replacing a rather naff AllBarOne, 10 hand-pumps, of which 6 were given over to 2 Gk IPA, 2 Abbot and 2 Pride, so room for 4 guests, one of which, Wherry, ” available soon ”, food was ok, but a bit more adventure on the ale front might be a good idea. We shall wait and see. Oakham Silly Billy not good, returned and replaced but still on sale when we left. Naughty. Dreadful selection of beers last Saturday(18÷06÷11) only one guest on, Deuchars IPA, didn’t bother. Much improved selection on today(23.11.11) JHB at £1.99 not to be sneezed at. Ales Wednesday all ale at same price, including Batemans XXXB, Summerskills Menacing Dennis and Adnams Winter Spiced. If they keep the beer choice up and that’s a big if, who knows where their rating will go Marstons Old Empire at £2.30 a pint in very good nick.
