Extremely inventive play based on the Mark Haddon’snovel, about life’s values. I hadn’t read the book but I enjoyed the play. You are really going to be amazed by the lighting and set design !

I had been meaning to see this for ages and I’m so glad i finally got round to it — such a fantastic play. Great staging and well paced. So emotional that I was in tears. I actually found it better than the book (also very good). Plus if you like dogs then you’ll love the end. Excellent acting too.

When you do something different and break from the norm it is taking a risk; for when I saw the unique stage and backdrop for this play I was sceptical — it almost looks like the set for Justin Timberlake’s Rock Your Body music video. So how could I take this play seriously I wondered? But lo and behold, my doubts were disproved…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show that has been quite so down-​to-​earth and sincere; tugging at the heart-​strings and yet not forcibly dramatic. This insight into a teenage boy with Asperger’s Syndrome is portrayed with honesty, sensitivity and creativity. I would not dare to call this show a play nor a musical for it has been crafted with such genius that it almost paves its own genre of performance. I don’t want to give too much away but let’s just say that it uses sound effects, movement, staging, a very cute live animal and even construction before our very eyes to great effect. Whoever envisioned this show not only has a great imagination but was able to bring to life often hidden raw human emotions in this humble story that carries the intriguing concept of no boundaries for one who dares to defy the odds.
The only things I don’t agree with for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-​Time is it’s impracticably long name and the image it seems to have made for itself of being a tale of mystery when actually I would describe it more as a real-​life escapade through innocent eyes. Frankly, excelling in every department, this is a masterpiece not to be missed.
