The Chatty is a great place to hang out for a meal, a few drinks and to spend the evening. It’s a very popular bar with young Kiwi’s so you’re likely to see half the population of New Zealand in there on any given weekend. It’s got a decent menu, good value for money and a nice outdoor area. Well worth checking out

Kiwi run bar with huge following for people living the local area. Great local bar with music on the weekends and a free BBQ on Sundays! We used to go a lot when we lived in Acton and it’s the kind of place you want to go with a large crowd. It’s got a great garden and conservatory which doubles the soE of the bar. If you want relatively cheap booze, music and somewhere fun to see friends in West London here is a pretty good place.

Yesterday I was at The Chatsworth and I‘m not impressed. It was overcrowded and loud. After few drinks I start getting like it little more but still something in the atmosphere was missing. Maybe I expected some more quite place when I can laid back and just talk with friends. The prices of the drinks was reasonable and the staff was little slow but for that crowded bar I think it was OK.

As I stepped out of the tube station late at night in Acton Town, my first thought was ‘What am I doing here?’ I was entering an Australian/Polish suburbia of what initially looked drastically lacking in nightlife, character and atmosphere. I eventually made it to the high street and things looked a little livelier. My destination was the Chatsworth bar. Outside was littered with young gents dressed in t-shirt, jeans, and they were all smoking like troopers. On entering the establishment, I noted that the bar was dominated with Aussie’s. This didn’t bother me in the slightest as our friends from down under tend to know how to party. The atmosphere was jovial and the DJ was spinning some classics house hits that soon had the small dance floor bouncing. A mixture of well-dressed ladies to those that were casually adorned, danced flirtatiously with guys who for the most part didn’t dress to impress. The real bonus in the Chatsworth is the cheap drink. A good Havana Especial rum and coke came to £3, whilst a 25ml shot of tequila was only £2.50. Bargain! The décor is simple and clean whilst the well stocked bar is served by very efficient bar staff. If you want to find a quiet spot for a smooch, behind the bar is a large conservatoire with long tables, and darkened surroundings. Here because of a friends leaving party on the Friday, I was told on good authority that the place was rammed to the rafters on a Saturday and a much better night. Saturday nights must be indeed special as the Friday atmosphere was impressive. Although I wouldn’t take the long journey from Camden just to drink in the Chatsworth, if I was a local, it would definitely be on my list of regular drinking holes.
