People tend to get confused which ‘The Blue Post’ pub you are referring to. So make sure you mention the street address when arranging to meet with friends! There are three in total — the other two are on Kingly Street(near Oxford Circus) and Rupert Street(near Piccadilly Circus). This is of course the Newman Street one(near Tottenham Court Road) — which I prefer as it’s probably not the busiest out of the three, so easy to find a table, at least from Monday to Wednesday. A secret you should know, is that it’s the venue for the LinkedGin meetup event — where people who work in advertising and marketing attend, and NOT talk about advertising and marketing with fellow professionals, or indeed random friends or folk who are not in advertising or marketing. It’s organised by a born and bred Londoner though! This happens every last Wednesday of the month. It’s a free event, but you can register via Serves your typical pub food(they have curly fries!) and is a Sam Smiths pub, so drinks are marginally cheaper.

The pubs not bad, excellent beers, but the staff are very unhelpful and don’t seem to care. On one occasion I had to wait for the barman to empty the dishwasher and chat with a friend before being served. On another a different barman was slumped on a stool behind the bar, clearly bored and too absorbed in his phone to notice me. He pulled me a pint while looking at his phone the whole time. Shame as I love Samuel smiths beers.

This is an awesome little pub serving Sam Smiths beer. The pub itself is pretty small, but the beer selection is awesome. Good prices, particularly for the quality of the beer. Neat neighborhood as well.

This pub’s OK. The beer(and wine and spirits) are cheap — the price you’d expect for a Sam Smith’s Pub in central london. There’s not much to choose from drinkswise, but if you come to a Sam Smiths you’re used to that! Strange clientele — if you sit outside on the picnic benches, you’re guaranteed to strike up a conversation with someone in media, music or a bike messenger or courier — the area is teeming with them(and bikes too!) overall — alright for a quick pint, but I’d not advise staying too long!

It’s a amazing there are so many pubs called The Blue Posts within striking distance of each other. This particular one is great and has all the hallmarks of a good Samuel Smiths pub(cheap drinks and really nice wheat beer). Upstairs is a good spot to hire if you’ve got a fair amount of people coming, with really comfy sofa’s, a nice bar and lots of space with friendly staff. Next time I’m in there I will try the food. Certainly a good place to add to the«places in the West End that are not rammed with people & you can just enjoy a quiet drink» list.

This is a key node on my «Sam Smith Pub Tour of London.» The beer is cheap, the servers are nice, and it’s perfectly located for after work sneaky beers. I miss the Banksy too, though.

This is one of the usual haunts for our Friday night pub visits. I’ve found that the staff are fine if a bit rushed, the interior is small but the exterior is large and you can drink or eat outside without spilling on to the road. The Banksy that was on the wall across the street has been painted ver which is a shame as it is now an ugly beige wall leading to grey instead of the really interesting Banksy picture however the pub is enjoyable nontheless. This Blue Posts is very close to several others. If you’re meeting folks here, make sure you all go to the right one!

This was my local when I lived in London, nothing special about it except that it was special to me. Darts!!! Also try the Lemongrass chips behind the bar — I forget who made them but they were delicious.

Have used this pub on many occasions. Being in a fairly quiet back street just behind the Ritz, it is a good place to go when the sun is out to stand on the street and have a few beers, maybe after work on a Friday night? Fairly traditional in design which isn’t normally my cup of tea and it can get very busy at times. Generally o.k. at the week-ends, so a good spot to stop off during or after shopping for a bite to eat and a drink. Nothing amazing about this place but like wise nothing to wrong with it. Food is o.k. and they have draught beer on if that is your thing. Definitely not a night spot but it does a job during the day or after work for a quickie. Two out of three as it really isn’t a place to visit for a real good time.

If you dislike your friends to the extent I do mine, tell them to meet you at the The Blue Posts in/near Soho. Given that there are three pubs in close proximity of this name you have at least a 66.6 recurring % of not bumping into them. Fortune however, favours the brave, and at the second attempt we managed to coordinate our gathering and duly descended upon the cheapest extremity of this unholy triangle. Frankly, I was disgusted at having to pay £2.10 for a pint of crisp refreshing Alpine lager, and after a long and studious perusal of the bar list was able to isolate the bottled organic cherry lager for imbibication at a racy £3.67 a bottle. Unlike Fruli, you can drink this bad boy all night long — well until the woefully early closing time at least. I prefer upstairs, which has its own bar and chesterfields — and given that this pub is owned by Samuel Smiths, most drinks are priced at the student union end of things — handy stuff if you’re credit crunching in central london . If you do want your friends to meet you at the first attempt tell them it is opposite the Royal mail depot and the graffito proclaiming ‘One nation under CCTV’

The Blue Posts is one of a fair few pubs with such name in the area; the history of the name is believed to come from what used to be actual blue posts marking the boundary of the old hunting ground that Soho once was. The Newman street Blue Posts is a Samuel Smith’s pub and a rather good looking one at that. Flower baskets and furniture make outside drinking more of a pleasure than many. The downstairs is an area marked out for predominantly vertical drinking but there are plenty of places to perch. During the day you’ll probably be alone barring the presence of the local posties as they knock off from the central post office next door. The food served is usual pub fayre but a little more traditionally British and homely. I had the Lancashire hot pot whch was actually a dissapointment but I didn’t pay so I was n’ae bothered. I have eaten here at other times and my meals have been lovely, especially the ploughmans. The food and drink are both reasonably priced considering the central location. Upstairs is the jewel in the Blue Posts crown, although occassionally the room is privately hired which will prove a minor irritation. The room is in a splendid Edwardian style, like a step back in time, plenty of seating and large windows. Drinking upstairs in the Blue Posts is one of London’s little pleasures. The staff are always really friendly even in peak hours, it’s a real pleasure to drink in such surroundings. I’m even a fan of the downstairs that so many don’t like. It has a traditional feel, a proper pub, dartboard included. Frankly sawdust all over the floor would make it even better.
