We spent a few days in London, and ate at various places for lunch, but we always had dinner at The Blacksmiths Arms. It was the best! We LOVE the atmosphere, and the food is fantastic. My fiancé was drooling over the Guinness and fish & chips. He ate it every night. I tried various things, and they were all wonderful. The staff is very friendly. I wish we had a place like this were we live.

Enjoyed my Seafarers Ale with pork and apple sausage and mash. Served with nicely cooked green beans that still had a crunch. Atmosphere seemed friendly and local. Not crowded on a Tuesday night. Service was good. Just around the corner from the doubletree hotel.

My favorite pub! Melanie and Stevie are excellent and never fail to make my visit a pleasure. The Blacksmiths Arms is the quintessential neighborhood pub with great food, great atmosphere and of course great staff. I travel a lot and have been to restaurants around the globe and The Blacksmiths Arms rates at the top for making me feel at home.

Not a thai dish on the menu when I was there, but what they had was top notch pub fare. On my first visit, I had the Scotch egg to start, and surprisingly it was served soft boiled on the inside. I would think that is tough to pull off and the silky texture was welcome. Combine that with a fresh arugula(rocket) salad and seasoned toasted bread and it was practically a meal on its own for 6GBP. But the apple sausages for a main were worthy of the opening act. Next trip I had a tasty soup of the day(pureed vegetable, and I believe one of them was fennel) and then a rib eye steak that was perfectly medium rare. That plus cask ale and a friendly staff. Can’t beat it.

I’m quite lucky to live so close to this little gem. It’s a great wee pub with an even better atmosphere. They have just introduced a new menu for bar food and for the restaurant which is really exceptional. We’ve sampled several dishes including sausage and mash and the burger — both were excellent. We’ve also had Sunday lunch here a couple of times and can highly recommend the chicken, beef and cod. I wanted to try the pumpkin tortellini the last time we were in so they offered to do it as a starter so I could still have the roast. It was so delicious! 2 starters, 2 roasts and a couple of drinks each(beer and wine) at under £40 won’t break the bank either! Can’t wait to try some of the other dishes they have on offer.

Last weekend I had the best lunch here. I was meeting some friends and we had a great time while enjoying the view of the Thames. The menu is not that big but from what we’ve eaten, I can say the quality of the food is more than satisfying. Recommended.

As the other reviewers said, the place looks like a cosy Traditional English pub bbut their prices for Thai food is a bit of a joke, A portion of Pad Thai(which is rather average) is £9.50 !!! Yes, £9.50 for a plate of noodles. Ridiculous price especially when other Thai restaurants in Central London charge around £7.50 for the same dish. Avoid.

This ‘Pub’(dare I say) is right around the corner from my hotel the Hilton London Docklands. Being in the Docklands for me means being a little isolated(the good stuff is quite the jaunt on foot) so it was super nice to find this Old English Pub that is actually an excellent Thai restaurant. Well… they don’t have my favorite Thai dish — Garlic Chicken but they have nearly everything else. Basically in the front area that you first walk into, its the pub portion and then apparently you can go and sit down to dinner in the back portion of the establishment. For me personally, I plop down at one of the small tables at the side of the bar and the waitresses take your order there. Its not too long of a wait and the food was really good. I would totally recommend it as an alternative to room service at the Hilton(its good just gets old).

We have been there many times since my girlfriend is Japanese and this is probably the only place in the area that offers any Asian food. A big downside for me is the limited availability of beer: London Pride is the only real ale, the only beer on tap even, so it is even that or a coke. There are some wines available as well. The staff is friendly(all Thai women) but a little impatient when taking orders. We like the food a lot, although my choices are limited to «mild» dishes; «hot» or «spicy» is too serious business for me and even my girlfriend struggles sometimes when she eats one of the spicy salads although she is used to hot food. The bar section has got very cosy chairs and the staff is happy to rearrange the tables for large groups in the restaurant section. There are tall tables outside without chairs

I’m reviewing the restaurant part. The restaurant is in the rear, and has an outdoor patio, which was pleasant on the warm evening i dined there. The service was good, and the food was ok — not bad, but not so good that I would travel here for the food. I had an appetizer which was minced chicken and shrimp, put into a rice wrapper and deep fried. I don’t recommend that — the presentation was nice, but the taste not that exciting. For the entrée I the pra khing(or something like that — meat with pineapple and vegetables), which was ok. I wouldn’t travel here just for the food, but if you are in the neighborhood looking for a place to eat, it is fine.

Great little thai place in an great area of London. Stroll across the Thames over looking canary wharf, have a dip in the Hilton pool next door then pop into Blacksmith Arms for an amazing meal. The food is pricey compared to the mean streets of Bangkok, but this is London. Compared to other places it is average. The food is very, very good and you pay for what you get. Recommend this place over and over. IF you are in the area, go visit!

A pleasant-enough Thai restaurant/pub where we had been twice before our most recent fateful visit. BEWARNED if you are a vegetarian, even if you ordered dishes specifically classified as vegetarian on the menu. My partner recently had the Vegetarian Hot and Sour soup and was appalled to discover several pieces of very non-vegetarian chicken in the soup. We obviously brought this to the waitresses’ attention and even though the dish was promptly removed, there was no apology and a rather icy service thereafter. I doubt we’ll be back

My other half and I come here fairly regularly as we live close by. The Thai food here is always delicious(we both love the«Weeping Tiger», which is a beef fillet dish in a sweet soy sauce-like sauce). We went back with some friends recently for the full English and had a great time — quiet ad relaxed atmosphere, over a pleasantly filling brekkie in good company. We were a little early(10 mins before opening time) and the staff kindly let us in to wait in the warmth of the pub. We have never had any complaint with the quality of food or service.

In truth, this is a Thai restaurant masquerading as a British pub. The owners are Thai, 95% of the menu is Thai, but the décor and full bar is fully Old-English style. While this is usually a recipe for disaster in most cases, I found the food surprisingly delicious. The curries had just the right around of heat with plenty of flavor. We had arrived at 5:30 after a long day of community work at the local farm(a wonderful place in itself!). Quite frankly, we were completely starved and were recommended this place by the locals. Unfortunately, kitchen doesn’t open until 6(which is reasonable on any other night) but several people left because of this policy. So don’t come here hungry! Or if you do, fill up with a snakebite. Delicious«beertail» with cider and blackcurrant. Service was a little sparse but fortunately the food came out rather quickly. We scarfed everything down and in particular, I enjoyed the green curry and the special lamb dish. Of their pub food, we only tried one and it was quite succesful as well. They make a mean fish & chips! It was the first one in London that I’ve enjoyed — flaky tender fish surrounded by a crispy beer batter coating. Yumm. I definitely recommend Blacksmith’s Arms if you happen to be in the area. It’s a bit out of the way and annoying to reach, but have dinner there and watch Harry Potter at the nearby Odeon afterwards and you’ll have a fantastic night out!
