Good pub, huge portions on standard pub fare. A nice local spot in an upcoming area! We got fish and chips, and the fish was Massive. Also massive burgers and a good liquor selection too.

My local, and I couldn’t wish for a better one. Very friendly, cool staff who are not aloof at all. Fantastic selection of single malts, plus the ale (tends to always be London Pride or Bombadier) is always well kept and a fair price. The food can be superb — if you see a steak on the specials board, don’t hesitate from ordering it. Only gripe is that they never have any guest ales other than pride or bomba.
All in all, a gem. A great place to chill out. Ignore the reports of it being in a rough area. It’s not posh, but far from rough. I’ve found it to be a lovely and friendly neighbourhood.

If you are unfamiliar with some of the rougher areas of London then I wouldn’t advise walking here from Kennington Station. Boarded up shops, broken windows and large estate buildings tend to make certain people a bit nervous when they are not used to it.
So is the pub worth the danger? Well it’s alrightbut I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It serves ale and I hear the food is OK.
Summer would be the best time to come buy with the tables outside and its location close to a park.

A good solid pub hidden just off Walworth Road. The pub is managed by a South African bloke, but most of the bar staff are from New Zealand and they are all friendly and generally attentive. Food is generally good, but quite expensive for the area– I recommend the chips! There is a decent amount of seating in the beer garden and inside the pub there is a bar area as well as a ‘snug’. Drink prices are pretty average for London and there is quite a good selection of spirits, ales, ciders, lagers and wines.

This was my ex-boyfriend’s local so we used to go there all the time, but mostly out of choice rather than convenience. It’s a simple, non-​obtrusive pub, good for chatting, spending days reading the Sunday papers, or a quiet option on a weekend night. There are lots of pine tables and chairs at the front, a smaller room out back, and plenty of seating outside — I’ve never failed to get a seat.
Good food is on offer — snacks as well as main meals and a roast on Sundays. Service is great and the whole place has a local, friendly feel.
My only qualm is the sports screen, but for others that’s be a draw.
This isn’t a pub you’d actively seek out, but if you’re in the area it’s an excellent option, and much better than some of the other pubs in the area, which can be a bit tough.
