Tamal UK

Maybe the only authentic Mexican in London. Ate at the Maltby location a few weeks ago. After having a pork taco, I thought out loud — this might be the most flavour I’ve tasted since moving to the UK a year ago.

Having recently moved from the West Coast of America, there are many foods I miss. Great tamales are hard to come by in London, but the team here produce some seriously delicious food!
Their service was fantastic — I emailed a request for a dozen to cook myself at home and they were incredibly responsive and helpful. When I picked them up (plus a freshly cooked one for good measure) at their Maltby Street Market (a 10 minute walk from the touristy Borough market and still undiscovered enough to chat to vendors and not feel like cattle being herded along), their staff were so cheerful!
They have a few extra items on their menu I’ll be trying soon, and I recommend buying some of their spicy sauces too!
