AVOID!!! Food is disgusting! First indian restaurant where the only vegetarian options are sides. Chicken tikka was salted and mushrooms were undercooked. Save yourselves a belly ache!

OK. Small portions. Not bad but not good. Not traditional, caters to people not familiar with Indian food. Close to British National Museum.

Some of the reviews weren’t great for here, but we really enjoyed ourselves. There was a group of about 8 and we had a tastecard which covered us all, so we got half price off all food(as long as we ordered a starter and main which we did!) and the food was good too. Wide variety of dishes, all of us had different things and we all thoroughly enjoyed them, the service was quick and polite, nice wine, fresh naan’s(the peshwari one was great!) and we were sat right by the window so we had a nice, roomy area with some fresh air from the door. Overall a really good experience.

Went with my fiancé for dinner this Friday evening. Being a Gourmet Society user, this was recommended(plus 50% off food) so we gave it a shot. Totally appalling experience. The waiter who rudely stopped mid taking orders to order my fiancé’s mango«juice»(cordial!!) without waiting for my orders, as to prevent us from changing our minds. Starters came later than 2 other groups that came later than us, the tikka paneer and vegetable platter were measly in portions and lacking in taste. Worst of all the mains came in bowls with broken edges and were like microwave curry. Worst of all is the extortionate service charge(£5 for a £33 bill) which the manager said is 12%. Avoid

We had a take-out meal from here on our first day in London during our last trip and I can honestly say it was some of the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life. The Saag Paneer and the Chicken Tikka Masala were both so sweet that it felt like I was eating dessert, just over the top. With all the great Indian restaurants in London, don’t waste your time at this place.

I made a reservation to dine on Takari’s website, their 50% off offer, learned that reservations are through CurriesOnline; waited all day for a confirmation but did not receive one. Decided to still go to the restaurant in case there was just an error in communication to me. There was not. An arrogant French doorman took no time to simply tell me to go away. Did not check with CurriesOnline, could not have cared less. I left. Within 4 minutes, I received a text with the confirmation. I am grateful that I did not have the reservation as the MENUPRICESHAVEMORETHANDOUBLEDWHATTHEIRWEBSITESAYS! This place is not rated well enough to put up with this nonsense.

This is OK for lunch, but not inspiring. The £7.95 deal includes a small starter a curry, a side and rice or naan. I had the lamb dish as the alternative was a mango chicken thing and I don’t do fruit based main courses. It was fine. The waiter was French, which I found unusual for an Indian restaurant. The interior is quite modern I can’t say what the usual clientele are like as I was the only person there. They have free wifi which is useful too. It’s not a destination venue, but its not bad. Before I give a final verdict I’ll need to try their dhal and a more serious curry.

Decent food. Ok service. Tandoori chicken was a bit overcooked but the spices were alright. My chicken tikka masala was too sweet. Anyway a bit too expensive; they charge quite alot for drinks as well…

On August 22, after a performance of «War Horse» at the New London Theater on Drury Lane in Covent Garden, a colleague and I walked across the street to Takari for a much anticipated Indian meal. We were«greeted» by a perturbed server who muttered something unintelligible while making a gesture we assumed meant«sit anywhere». We were the only customers in the restaurant. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. And waited. Another couple came in and received their entrees before we were finally served. And our food was ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLE! Her chicken tikka was dry and overcooked. My lamb tikka was completely inedible, like shoe leather. Because we had waited so long to be served and it was coming up on 10:45PM, we decided not to send our food back and suffered through it. No one came back to the table to ask how anything was. When I finally got up and asked for a bill, the server rolled his eyes and walked away to figure our charges. When re returned to the table, I presented him with a credit card, which he refused to take unless we agreed to pay a FIVEPOUND service charge for the privilege of swiping the card — he insisted that that’s the fee he’s charged by the credit card processing company. What a load of crap. I refused and angrily paid with cash while LOUDLY complaining. The server just laughed. DONOTEATATTHISTOILETOFANINDIANRESTAURANT. IFYOUDO, YOUWILLABSOLUTELYREGRETIT.
