Studio Voltaire

This is a small artist led gallery, the first and only in South West London, that has been in existence since 1994. It seeks to support artists, through a public programme of exhibitions, commissions, live events and other off site projects.
Voltaire also provides affordable studios for London based artists. The studios are located next to the large exhibition space, and there’s a really great feeling that everyone is in to together; no one has an ego and the whole of Voltaire runs on a structure of helping each other out.
Some of the artists that have/​had studios and exhibitions at Voltaire include: Painter Dawn Mellor (She is fantastic), Performance artist Spartacus Chetwynd and Donald Urquhart.
Their private views and events are always very fun, social events and i urge you check their website and keep an eye out for whats coming up. Also, if you’re interesting in investing in some art, they have (to date) published three ‘Portfolios’ available to buy for £1,500, the latest has just been made available and includes Nick Relph and Oliver Payne, alongside others.
A fantastic and welcomed platform for art in South London, highly recommended.
